BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Are you guys with peak-time BT problems on specific exchanges? I remember reading some stuff on Thinkbroadband that there's certain exchanges where BT are massively congested and need to add extra backhaul capacity.

You get what you pay for.

True. But, still far expensive exspecially premium charge without taking phone line switch over to Zen. I believe that the speed was spot on within Zen Network in your area, if not, they using BTWholesale network (probably the same issues with speed with BT, Plusnet, Zen and few other isps during evening peak hours)

and remember boys and girls bt dont shape. funny how when i was with bt my connection would fall apart around 1600 and then come 0030-0100 id get back all my speed again.

their excuse. "its peak" so i guess everyone log's on at the same time and also log's off at the same time also. every day.

Zen if they have a PoP in your area.

I'm totally shocked mate. Zen are in my area I never knew that!

Anyone on Zen LLU can comment on their service and what kinds latency you get?

I was told by zen staff and few member saying they had no limit capped by BT side, giving you the fastest speed on your line as it can and the ping is even low and get answered by call straight away on their tech support. But, you get best service as you get what you pay for. I am seriously consider moving to Zen with phone & broadband. Staff say there is no issues in peak times with off peak times on BT Network and LLU Zen too.

My phone has randomly stopped working. Installed infinity Monday, all was fine. Now it's not working properly.

It's odd.

Basically, when you ring, it doesn't seem to register the incoming call. The phone doesn't ring, but also the screen doesn't light up either to show the incoming call.

It still seems to be connected though. As I have dial tone and can make outgoing calls. Also if I ring it on my mobile and then pick up while it's ringing, then it connects. It just doesn't seem to register the call coming in or pass onto the 1571 answer phone either.

Any ideas?

Is Zen LLU available at your exchange?

Not had any speed issues with Plusnet recently, could it be your exchange?

Plusnet staff did checked with my local exchange, no congestion at all but did asked me to raise the fault ticket but knowing plusnet willing to sent out engineer which it pointless because the speed issues only happen every nights this week between 8pm and midnight but the rest of other times was fine. The last 3 weeks of fibre was solid speed, no issues. It's only just started last Monday and every nights 8pm to midnight with very slow speed issues.

Mine is ok for now. I will update as the night goes on.

Sorry to hear it Locky. Mine seem ok all day all this evening. Cos my gateway changed to different one since last night before midnight as the fibre kicked me out of gateway into another different one.
