Bugger My Cat is Dying

Hope all goes well mate any updates or still awaiting tests?

Just had a phone call from the Vets. We're still awaiting test results from the lab, but he's been a lot chirpier over night, and has been drinking and weeing for Britain, which is fantastic because it flushes his kidneys. Both kidneys are double in size than they should be, and this is one area of concern - the results should show if this is treatable by antibiotics or not.

The other area of concern is potential lymphoma, again we're waiting results from the lab for the ultrasound tests. Naturally if this is the case then we'll have him put down rather than go through chemotherapy.

I heard him in the background giving the vet an earful, so at least he's better than he was :).

That does sound like theres ground for cautious optimism! :)

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that the test results come back with good results :)

sorry to hear this , i had 2 cats which our family got when we were around 7 years old, they both slept in my room and i took care of them, my brother brought a kitten home andleft it there so i raise that one too, when i hit 18 i had to leave for college, but i sent money for food back home, no one took care of them... i came back to find the female basically dying from starvation and i had to choose if she would survive like that or have her put down, doc said she had kindney failure so i choose to not let her suffer... then the male went the same way shortly after... i buried them both. they lived until 17 and 18 then the kitten who was around 3 dissapeared... really not the best time.

I hope your story ends with a more happy ending

That's truly awful Kaiser! I think I'd disown my family if they'd let my cat stave to death! Quite frankly, they should be prosecuted for cruelty to animals!

OP, I hope you get some happy news with the results!

Well he has Renal Lymphoma, or cancer of both kidneys. He's been given a month at absolute best. I'll have to go round on Saturday to have him put to sleep, as the wife won't be able to do it.

Sad times :(.

Sorry to hear that OP.

One thing this thread has done is make me think that if I ever get a cat, I'm calling it "Bugger".

I'm sorry Platypus :(

On the plus side when did you get married? It doesn't seem 5 minutes since you broke up with your last GF. My word time is flying!
