Building my first PC in screenshots

Not going to be able to build it today, the missus has brought home guests, so I have to do that social thing. So looks like the games will begin tomorrow.

Building PC's>Socialising with guests.

Tell them you will socialise after, and only after, you have finished (and had it post). This will include time for RMA'ing the motherboard if it were to break again (please God no).

:) Good luck again

This thread is building up more tension than a lot of hollywood films. Maybe it should be turned into a film, though who would write the script?

Also, wasn't really any doubt but I just checked mine to confirm 100%, the monitor is the 5A plug :)

I think there is a moral to this post. Don't post until you have a working build incase you incriminate yourself ;)

I've always put the components inside the case prior to testing, its always worked for me. If you handle the components correctly and take your time, you usually get it right first shot.

Good luck on the build this time!

Thanks for the confirmation on the 5amp plug for the Benq :p

man, i feel sorry for you!

so OcUK agreed to replace the 2nd mobo? even after seeing this thread? and is the first mobo working?

Not sure if OC have checked out this thread, the motherboard probably went through there normal testing procedures, I haven't tested the first motherboard since I got it repaired, I advertised it on gumtree with details about the pins, if that fails then ebay and then probably the bin.

wow you are really unlucky dude
hope this goes well for you in the end

Not been a great week, my gaming laptop also packed up on me this week, either its the motherboard or the graphics card, so now it even mroe essential that I get this PC up and running.

This is exactly what I will be doing today after I finish work.

Some great components you have there. Good luck on completing this with your audience, especially when they want to start helping!

My son had mine built in a couple of hours :-)

Hi,

First I like to say fantastic responses from everyone and I am so grateful for all your responses, sorry about the long silence, I had my heart in my mouth while I waited to see what OC would say about the 2nd motherboard, luckily there are going to send me a replacement tomorrow.

The other motherboard with the bent pins has also been straightened but one broke so not sure how much use it be.

At least it's now compliant with LGA1155 CPU's.

Well we have reached that time once again, I even stopped at the shops today and purchased Left 4 Dead so I guess I am maybe overconfident today :D

Here goes let the games begin.............

What a second mate ... Have a coffee first, relax and take a step away from those dodgy web callbacks that you've been writing all week.

Chill out - don't rush in to it. Start maybe after the kids have gone to bed or wait a couple of hours.
