Burnount Paradise Demo next week?

I have a 8mb line which is more than enough for me, puzzling that you put someone on ignore yet still refer to them plus he quoted all I said so you can see it ;)

I have nothing else to say to Mr Men regarding this issue. I snese he knows very little about Networking/ISPs/Bandwidth etc so is arguing for the sake of it.

rp2000

good, maybe you will just email me instead?

So you think you deserve to steal all the bandwidth to get this game quicker since you have a better connection? maybe you should pay 50p a day to not be affected by Live's bandwidth throttling?

Burnout is on the PS3 PSN now.

Josh

Thanks for the headsup mate.
Will grab now... along with many other people in here I should imagine.
Let's see if we can bring the PSN to a crawl too ;)

V1N.

EDIT: Getting 500-600k per sec at the mo, not complaining, these be Cornish wires the demo's downloading through! ;)

But I downloaded it at max speed from live, woopdef***inwoop?!

Can people just stop talking crap for one day? No one cares if PS3 owners have bigger willies.

Edit:

And now back to business, out of interest, now that it's out on the PSN can someone do a genuine, unbiased comparison.

We cornish likes too stick togther :D

Funny thing is we all had no probs wih connection speed down here in the back of beyond :)

lol, true, but as I said above, it's all relative.

I'm not sure if anywhere in Cornwall has better than ADSL?

I'm connected at 7.5mbps, so my top speed is between 700 and 750k per second.... I get about 730k per sec from Windows updates.

So for us, 700k per sec is fast.

For RP2000, who has a 14mbps connection, 700k is just half of his available bandwidth, so to him it seems slow, especially when you're paying for a premium service, you want to see your money paying for a better connection.

But yeah, frankly I'm still delighted we have broadband down here ;)
Was a welcome step up from ISDN in 2003. ;)

I'll get one done as soon as it's downloaded...

50%

Josh

EDIT - ISDN rocked! All my mates had dial up, while i had 112k ISDN. Was like 10k Download speed or something. Got ADSL in 2003/2004 i think.

You're allowed to mention you got a good speed from live, but... lol, only joking. Chill out, usually it's the PS3 getting picked on, amonst other things, for its crap online service.

As for the unbiased comparison... I'll get me popcorn....but... on a serious note though, that would be interesting. Who's got both systems, but doesn't show any bias? Well, I'll be interested to hear RP2000's suggestion for a start, I don't think he's pro anything but common sense, and minimal BS.

EDIT: just jokes!

hehe, race... you started before me, as I was playing Motorstorm when I saw your post.. but I'm on 65% ;)

Yeah, ISDN did indeed rock in its day. Dual channel, 128kbps, 14-15k per second download, but blew 4-5k per second 56k away ;)
Then I got 512kbps broadband, and nearly **** meself ;) (and it was cheaper)

Mmm I would say rp2000 is slightly more biased towards the PS3 based purely on his posts.

However he's a lot gentler in his bias and posts compared to the majority of people on here.

I guess the problem is then, everybody has their favourites.
When people have favourites, it's natural, as well as unfortunate, that they tend to look for the good points, and disregard some of the bad, and exactly the opposite in equal measure for their least favourite.

I'd love to play them both, side by side, just for interests sake... quite unbiased. In fact, I'd invite loads of you around for a simultaneous unveilling... and drink beer, but it's not to be ;)

Hopefully, they'll both be good! Simple as

V1N.

I think we need DirtyDog back to talk about frame rates :p

Shame, what with consoles being as complicated as they are now, basically mini, net connected, PCs, that you can't get a Fraps program for them both... and a screen grab program, that would save the current screen to the HDD, uncompressed.

Would be good for comparisons... get an exact framerate, and image test.

Meh, no point in posting about if onlys and what ifs...

At the end of the day, there are so many factors.. different tellies look different. Some, apparently look better over VGA or component, or HDMI, so one looks washed out, but the other not.

Don't know if any members here have an HDMI Xbox, and PS3, that they can connect to the same HDMI port (hence, all colour settings etc are the same, 1:1 pixel mapped if possible) hmmm, am I going a bit OTT here? Just trying to think of the fairest test... but at the end of the day, I'm sure we'll have plenty of input on the matter soon.

I have 360 on component and the ps3 on hdmi, downloading both now.

I AM IN A BETTER MOOD BECAUSE I BEAT SOME PEOPLE AT TEKKEN. (I'm a simple man really, and don't normally like to get caught up in all this bickering crap, so apologies to anyone I have offended in this thread).
