Burnount Paradise Demo next week?

Well, two words for the PS3 version so far.

LOVE IT.

100% going to be spending my hard earned Xmas money on this one! lol

Not even done a race yet, went to the junk yard, fixed my car up, and just driving around. I love the handling, the general feel of it, it looks great, I love the pressing square to spin around if you missed a corner... sure, I'm just driving around the city at the moment, but you can get a feel for the game, and it feels great. I love the way the car deforms too.

More later, back to it now.
I don't own an XBOX360, but to be fair, what I've seen, I wouldn't imagine would be any different on that either really, no better or worse.
Will be interesting to see how the online component compares!

I would say i'm unbiased.

Have both consoles and like they both very much.

Ill get some shots up with my Canon 30D if people want some comparison shots?

Josh

EDIT - You beat me, mine slowed down :p , at 70%. Damn BT with their "Up To 8MB". Im on a business connection aswell :(

YOU ARE A STUDENT WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS YOU GOT? ;)

Well, well... wouldnt you like to know ;)

Josh

Ah, the kind of business that requires a business class internet connection eh?

lol

I still love it.

Just did the first race, just had a time limit to get somewhere.
I'm sure somebody above said it was slow, didn't feel so for me, blasting around, hit boost, and off she blasts.

60fps!

but.... 720p, not 1080p.

I'm relieved actually, better this level of detail, at this framerate, at 720p, than... I don't even want to think about it ;)

V1N.

EDIT: By the way, to save waiting if you want, it's the right D-PAD to get online.

EDIT2: Did the online thing, Freeburn, what a laugh, everybody going mental, and basically just ramming each other... bumper cars throughout the map

I'm installing now, and kicking of remainder of the 360 download. I am excited and I still have some GT5:P to play later!!! Good times indeed.

Erm so all this driving is nice and shiny, but how do I play online?

As mentioned above, it does feel more like Test Drive Unlimited than Burnout... or in fact, a mixture of the two.

Just did a race proper, against some AI cards, as you would expect from burnout.

Had Boost, had takedowns, but the objective, was to race to a location on the map, via whatever route and shortcuts you can find.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that part... I used to like the old "linear" race. They were franktic, takedowns left and right.

Still, that was just one race, maybe there's a mix, some like that, and some more traditional races, where you can only follow one route, ala normal burnout.

By the way, RP2000, have sent you an invite.

This isn't Burnout in my eyes.
Haven't made my mind up if I like it or not :(

Had a race which was good but the God feel is missing .. I am no longer a speeding tank, more a crawling paper .... something . :p

Hopefully the later cars will make the game a lot more enjoyable

Ok, I will be back in a while. Need some food, and hopefully 360 version will download by then as well.

OK mate, I shall be going offline for the evening shortly.
I meant to by now already, but I'm quite into this demo.

It's a definite going to purchase for me, but, as Chadd above says, it really doesn't feel like burnout.

It feels like Test Drive Unlimited, but better, with Burnout elements in it, like the boost... though even the boost is recharged in petrol stations now, and you obtain damage, which you repair in a junk shop..., actually, it's like a mix of Test Drive Unlimited, Need for Speed Carbon, and Burnout.. but with better, and smoother graphics, and IMO, better handling... the thing is just so much fun to drive.... immediate and easy pick up and play value... but... it isn't Burnout! But, it is a good game, in its own right.

lol, sorry mate. I guess it's habit, in the English language, names begin with a capital letter ;)

I'll call you RPlc2k if you like?

No?

Well, you can let me off the occasional slip on the capital letters then.

Cheers rp2000 ;)
I'll look forward, out of interest, to your XBOX review too.

That was cool.

Created my own online game, all easily done via the right D-Pad.

Was almost immediately populated, and was driving around, against other people, setting challenges, and if even pops up on the screen who has the most oncoming, or the longest drift/jump etc etc.

Everything you do seems to be monitored, and continually flashing up on the screen that "user x has beaten your jump" etc

Leaves you thinking "I can't have that" and keep at it

Downloading from PSN is way faster than xbox, maxing my connection right out! Woop woop!

How you like them apples Mr.Men? :p

Joking dude!

Josh

EDIT - Cornish wires be fast, Yaharrr!

I downloaded the 360 version in about 20 minutes and i am now downloading the ps3 version it has been downloading for an hour and its only at 48%.
I am on virgin media 20meg download speed and use the same router for both consoles.
I have always had very slow download speeds on the ps3.
Any one got an answer to this problem.

86%, 20meg VM BB - PSN for 2 hours, lol, not as bad as some demo's that have taken 8 hours on xbox Live, i gave up downloading release day demo's in fear of melting my 360 leaving it on that long (before the option to have 360 in lower power mode).

I must just have been lucky then.
It maxed out my 7mbit line and came down in, I dunno, about half an hour I guess.. I wasn't timing it.

@Dutch Guy.
That was a laugh.

A couple of times you "took me out" though, I was stopped lol
I was looking at the map, trying to find a race for us.
I guess it doesn't exist in that mode... just a demo, with a sandpit for driving around in?

V1N.

EDIT: by the way at McManicMan, and Ian Flowers. I see you're both on Virgin, and I'm sure I've seen chats in here, about Virgin broadband being slower on the PSN. Not sure if it's true, but I only have ADSL1, at 7mbps, with a top end of 700odd k per second, and it took no more than half an hour.

Like the dumbass I am I just cancelled my 22% complete 360 one, to start again and now it is going slower. I have the PS3 one to play after I eat anyway, so not too bothered for now, Hopefully we can get some online stuff going

Thankfully I got the PS3 one before the whole world and his dog started downloading it.

I can only think my 360 one has gone slowly as it is just after school in USA now so a lot of people are downloading it (It was released in the early hours of USA time so most will just be home nowish). And the UK PSN one is being hammered just because its a new big demo and it's evening time.

I find pausing the download for a few seconds and then resuming it may give you a boost on the PSN one.

The PSN one didn't max out my connection either today, so I am willing to concede I may be having ISP issues but everything else on the net is super fast.

Anyway enough about download speeds, people will start telling me to get a refund again!!;)

I concur, but cannot think of any valid tests to do and have not had too much experience with cable, whereas ADSL I am a bit of an expert ;)

Note: Must leave forums alone and leave 360 and ps3 and get some food!!
