Burnount Paradise Demo next week?

Im having fun, espically online, i like to get a takedown then hit the reverse button and see if they copy me and reverse around the whole map, whithout crashing, although i am a wee bit annoyed when some starts a challenge then they cancel it just before you win it.

nope Burnout Paradise is more fun, keep forgetting that this car is one of the slowest, bring on the top teir cars i say. Last night was doing the online challanges and was meeting up on the car park roof and boosting on the ramps on top landing on the railway station roof, also having head on massive crashs on the ramps on the beach and doing the flatspins and barrel rolls, was great fun. Seeing how smal a part we have in the demo and how much can be explored and hidden in that small amount then i'm really looking forward to the retail release.

Somebody already made that point, and like I already said it doesn't make any difference. Even with the slowest cars available Revenge is just so much more intense and adrenaline pumping. The takedowns feel more 'meaty', the traffic checking makes you feel like some kind of unstoppable badass and it's just awesome blasting through the trafffic with cars flying everywhere, it's total mayhem.

Paradise looks prettier and has better crash physics and damage modeling, but in every other way I prefer Revenge.

I'm not saying Pradise is a bad game in it's own right, but it just doesn't feel like a Burnout game. It's lost that intensity, that 'Burnout' feel.

you see its in your opinion which you have every right, i personally didn't like ramming other traffic because to me it made it "all to easy", i much prefer dodging traffic like the old Burnouts and with Burnout Dominator on PS2 and aiming for near misses for the burnout gauge to go up rather than just ramming your way through, Burnout Paradise makes for a more intense race knowing if you hit a car your totalled. The takedowns seem just as fun also, this game is more of the same but now with open world fun and your own choice in what you have to do to obtain stunt runs which can be different eveytime now for every race or challenge.

Me too, except I haven't played revenge so I prefer takedown. This was one of the games I was really looking forward to next year but the way in which you initiate races / challenges is a right pain - assuming you lose of course, then you have to drive all the way back to the start point to try again - what's wrong with having a simple menu system or a 'quick retry' option?

Other than that there is a lot to like about the demo, nice graphics, hidden routes, billboards to crash through etc etc but lacking in enough fun so far - i.e. too much effort to find the types of race / challenge I like :) Of course I will give a few more chances, see if it grows on me some more :)

I was taken by this... i loved Burnout 2 POI, and revenge was mehhh... (just hated all the checking traffic from reverse rubbish)

This one has elements of both but seems to fail on all counts.. The sandbox open world environment thing jus dosnt work as there as no specific laps or track routes anymore. So its too easy to get lost and is basically just TD2 Unlimited.

I have now played the demo longer than I probably should have and I love it. Online open world play is just awesome as a time sink and once theres all the challenges of the full game it will be packed with stuff to do.

Single player might turn out to be a slog just to get the cars unlocked if theres not many modes for racing (3 or 4 in the demo?) but hopefully the unlocking of new areas is paced well. For me it 100% feels like burnout when I'm flying into oncoming traffic racking up my near miss tally on the way to smashing someone into (or over) a wall. :D
I shall be getting this launch day and hopefully getting some invites from here as well, its not all bad you know guys.

Agree totally! Revenge just felt too easy at times, being able to speed through traffic tapping boost to keep your speed up, only ever having to swerve around bigrigs/trucks etc. Burnout 2 and 3 were much more of an adrenaline rush as pretty much all cars on the road were a potential hazard, especially when playing split screen/systemlink with a mate and your both trying to win without slamming into traffic at a crossroads etc.
I welcome the inability to just slam into same way traffic with Burnout Paradise, makes flooring it all that much more of a risk!

what can i say. im an old rocker, 'take me down to paradise city, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty, ohh wont u please take me hooome' :P

EDIT: forgot to say, yep the online is a real time sink, ppl kept leaving thier games so i decided to create my own, for the 1st hr had the same ppl playing, 2 left and me and someone called Beamo did the challenges utill more ppl joined, the americans were real impressed with my reversing skills, think i did 3/4 of the map in reverse gear, think in total did about 3 1/2 hrs of online last night.

Its like TDU however the online implementation and the open sandbox style of the game was done a lot better in TDU.

I will say however giving the demo a bit more time today it is growing on me (especially with using the sixaxis controls for the car)
