Burnout Paradise - The Ultimate Box

WOW - I am impressed.

I installed the new EA downloader, entered my product key and it added the game much like how STEAM does so whatever happens to my Burnout disc, I can allways download it from EA :)

Also, I think someone at EA has **** themselves.. NO INTRUSIVE DRM !!!!!!

I downloaded the Demo/Trial - Entered my product key and thats that.

No need for the CD in the drive, No securom, No Install limits - WHATS GOING ON - My Brain cant take it in?

Also, the online play is Tied to your EA ID via the serial (I think).

So can you confirm, I get 30 minutes per load? I dont want to waste my 30 minutes this afternoon if its all I'll get

30 minutes in total I believe, not per load. After that you can free roam for a few minutes but not start any races. After those few minutes you can't play any more at all.

Your joking... a 3GB full game download that expires after 30 mins! How stupid. Most people will just get in, drive about, do the odd thing, and then suddenly be locked out.

Would have been much more inteligent if they released a proper demo that just had restricted amounts of stuff, but you could play over and over, would have been a smller download too.... but then nobody seems to be able to make a proper Demo any more...

This will annoy the hell out of those with download limits on their internet.

So its completely useless then? By the time we've got a multiplayer game going to see how it feels to play online the trial is over!

I'm certain I've played the trial for more than 30 minutes!
After 30 minutes, it pauses the game and gives you the screen asking if you want to buy it.. hit del to return back to the game, carry on playing.

And you can continue to play in full after hitting escape?

I've no idea.. when I played the demo, I just ****ed about driving fast and crashing into stuff.. I never play free-roaming games properly :P

Not on my version. Given that this is the sort of game many may only play for half an hour at a time, it would be odd to give us the full game and let us play for free in half hour chunks, only having to press escape occasionally :)

You hit the two shoulder buttons simultaneously to initiate crash mode. Idea is to beat the $ score on that road.

It's 'OK,' but not a patch on the old puzzle mode.

hah, game keeps getting better i didnt notice they had included it in the PC version ... ill also add you ingame .. ta

instructions say 'S' if your not using xbox controller ..

I really recommend a 360 controller for this, if only for the D-Pad functions. Up cycles between Road Rules (on/offline time trials & crash mode), Right initiates Easy Drive, allowing you to instantly go online, restart a race, check leaderboards, etc.

Now if only Criterion could make their in-game stat/news page servers not die every five minutes :D

Edit: Back takes you to the map page, Start to the offline stats page. Mad drifts are way easier with the trigger, and you can correct your line easily with the stick, which is a total 'must' when you're driving the top-end cars with your finger jammed down on boost for a 10x Burnout combo.

People are complaining about the graphics? This game gets insane a few hours in. Absolute bleedin' chaos. When a car flips over your bonnet with particles, smoke, debris flying everywhere you'll appreciate that it's not Crysis and your frame rate is still stuck at 60.
