Does this game install a bunch of **** like GTA4? I'm tempted to buy it but if it's going to install Windows Live and all that ******** I'll not bother.

It installs Burnout and nothing but Burnout. When you start the game it starts Burnout. All the internet play is done through EA servers using software in the actual game, not LIVE.

I didnt even need to use the CD :)

Just download the trial version:
http://download.nvidia.com/downloads/nZone/demos/nzd_BurnoutParadiseOB_PC.zip

Then enter your product key from the box to activate the full version :)

OR

Install the EA download manager:
http://files.ea.com/downloads/eacore/eadm-installer.exe

Enter your product key and download similiar to STEAM.
 
I played the demo and was dissapointed. The cars had no feel to them, there seemed to be very little traffic, the graphics on full settings 1920x1200 and 8 aa was also poor. There was a wierd flicking effect kinda like there was no aa on at all.

From what i have played i much perfare grid. I also would pick carbon and underground over this, at least you could pimp your rides.

Is the full game any better?

Anyone figgered out how to get the dual or triple monitors working, cos whe select a 2monitor from within the game it disdlays the both screens on the 1 monitor??
 
During online play, does anyone know why a speech bubble keeps appearing next to my name, it flashes like its picking up the music or something, but I haven't configured my microphone and it still did it even when I unplugged it!
 
I may have figured out the problem, I reinstalled windows the other day and still had it set to stereo speakers, the auto sensing on the speaker inputs had though the centre/sub was a line in...time for a test.

Edit: Nope, problem still exists. Also they've made it pretty annoying to quit an online race, you have to wait till the next race starts to quit. I got in a race with two French (I think they were French) guys and promptly left them for dead. 100% online record (so far) :p....actually the stats weren't saved (probably because I quit) :(

Eeeeh? When you're hurtling along at the speeds you do, the amount of traffic is about right! Your reactions won't be able to help you when there's a car in front of you. Traffic volume is fine :) I've noticed that it changes with the time of day though.

I've not noticed this flickering AA effect that you're on about. Made sure that SSAO or whatever it is, is turned off?

As for "pimping" your ride, go to the junkyard after you've repaired your car and you can pick the paint job and finish you want.

I got my copy from those lovely Jersey folk today and it's brilliant! I'm loving it.

yup traffic amount is changing by the time at nights there's less traffic than at the day :)
 
game is really good but there is hardly anyone online in ranked modes yet been playing online for a while good 3 hours just no one joins when i make a server myself.
gets a bit annoying when you join a match and they all sit in the same road with there big trucks cause they have done most of single player already.

When i installed it puts on EA downloader as well that runs in background but uses nothing and does nothing

i had a good time laughing at the music but i found i enjoyed it as well.

Im having the same problem.

On mine, its just showing my normal desktop on the 2nd screen.

Is it that you need one of the Matrox (Dual/Triplehead) adapters to enable multi monitor support?
