Can anyone give me some help....

I'm on level "Heat" and I'm at the barn at the top of the hill. Just taken out the tanks and now need to get down the hill to the helicopter, but I can't. I keep getting killed before when I get to the edge of the field by the road :(. There are just too many enemy troops and my men seem to be about 30 metres behind whether I wait for them or not. I call in airstrikes and move as soon as they've landed but the enemy just appear again and kill me. I've tried so many times that it's getting to the point that I'm about to give up on the game! I'm not playing on the hardest level, but one down from it.
Has anyone got any advice on how to get down the hill in one piece??
 
Im stuck on Heat too, I have a checkpoint halfway down the farmers field after taking out the tank and have 3 minutes to get to the LZ. Ive followed the road to greater success than going direct cross country but the building at the bottom causes issues as you have several enemy spawn points.

I have heard using inside the building as cover for each wave of people as you call in airstrikes is a good tactic
 
I did this level by staying to the right of the map the whole way.
Go through the barn and head to the right across the field. You need to get to the house at the end of the field, should checkpoint here!
Then go round to the right, use airstrikes to kill men coming up from the left. I then continued down and round to the right and jumped down the ledge.

Give this way a try!
 
Is smoke mission specific or am i missing something?

I only seem to have flashbangs and can only remember having smoke grenades on the last part of the game when C4ing the tanks at the missile silo.

I did it like this:

Got my weapon from *** barn (loads stacked up) and went to the hut to the right of the field, there will be enemies running at your (at least 4) so take them out. Them immediately call an airstrike to the rocks on the far right (near the house at opposite end of field) start to move up. The airstrike wil ltake out the next wave, stay to the right and along the rocks, miss the dead cow and into the building (if you've done this quick enough, you'll have a save point.) Watch out though as you might hit an enemy or two on the very corner of tyhe building on the opposite side to the rocks. You'll then hit the road and it's all down hill from here. Move over the road and look down, you'll see three enemy's running up towards you, take them out and head left towards the hut (where you had to do some mission on the way up (planting C4 on it I believe).

head out that and straight down the hill, I think you'll be able to run all the way down from here (which is what i did I believe) but stay to the left.

At the bottom by the gas station (if you look at the front dead on) you'll see a truck and a ditch to the right of it, get down there and that's your cover till the chopper arrives. Stick that part (I think there is a sewer part there) your team will eventually arrive as if you've done the above right you'll be there a good minute before them. Chooper lands, get in and leave.

Can someone confirm if the achievement for completing the game on veteran difficulty can just be done by selecting the last level and finishing it or do I have to start a full new game again?

Dan, I believe it's all the levels which need to be done to complete this.

If I'm wrong (quite often I am ;) ), it's still well worth playing through on veteran, as it adds so much to the game

Yep stick to the edges, worst thing is to try and run down the middle of the hill, lying down is good for when getting shot at too

Yes but you are probably very good Soulja and any multiplayer i need to be on your side :D , that leads me to another question how many multiplayer achievements are there ??? someone told me none but i cant believe that :eek: .
