Car clamped, help and advice needed quickly

Sorry - but any sympathy I might have had is evaporating rapidly.
The facts as you have posted them are that a parking fine was incurred while your mechanic drove it - true?
You are tryingto avoid paying that by saying that you weren't the driver.
Why are you not understanding the law as written on the link posted by Burnsy2003 - your argument is not a valid defence and you the registered keeper of the car are 100% liable for the original fine.
This is why the court did not cancel the original fine.
This is why a summons was issued agaisnt you for non-payment.
Stop deluding yourself about submitting forms/breakdown in communication.
You are the registered keeper of the vehicle and in law you are liable for the fine.
End of argument.

Sigh.... I wasnt the driver but i did mentioned in my earlier post that i am liable as i am the registered keeper. I went away after i posted the thread to sort out the whole issue.

I still dont understand why people think im lying or trying to avoid payment. My friend did accept the charge but the court didnt follow it up (now i know why).

The bone of contention here , that people seem to be missing is the fact I was told i would be sent a document so as to know what to do as the matter is out of the court hands now but i never received it, even though they claimed they did sent it.

I dont want any sympathy, i just wanted advice as to what to do - this aint happen to me before.

Hahahahaha, this thread has got my laughing my ass off - why the hell did you not go to court? And as the 'I wasn't driving' didn't wash with the court, why did you think the Bailiff wold give a damn? And why the clowning around with the Police?

Comedy gold!

It seems the ticket was issued around (or before) october 05 iirc and my flat was involed in a fire incident Nov 05. I had to move into a hostel/temp accomodation, whilst the place was repaired. it would have been around this time the summons was sent...(maybe) I didnt see any summons but an aftermath letter from the court which i then chased up....

....I am drained man,..and im at work better stop.

Can I be the one of the first to give ElRazur a smug grin, and say:

This thread is giving me SO much pleasure. :D:D

You should have to www.pepipoo.com as soon as you got the ticket. Quite likely that the road markings and/or signage would have been incorrect and you would have been able to have the ticket overturned.

Kinda late now but will add that to my bookmark for future use (if the need be)

Thanks

Tell him you have a friend who owes you money who will give him a £2000 cheque. Then just tell him to give you the £1400 change and everything will be fine.

It states on the back of the documents that No Cheques, Credit cards or money transfer due to persistent fraud.

I was reading this thread as Dennis Waterman. :D
What were you logged in as someone else?

No, that was a crap joke, I'll get me coat :)

So if what I have read in this thread is acurate, If I wanted to go to say London for the day I could hire a car for about £25 and park wherever I like and stuff the congestion charge and any consequency will be the resonsibility of the hire company :)

Yeah, but they may clamp it in London or even tow it away. The hire company will take you to a small claims court as well if it was just a fine.

They will track you down via your details and if they cant get hold of you, some of them will swipe your card virtually. :)

And when hiring the car there'll be some small print authorising the hire car company to retroactively charge you for any such costs you incur whilst the car is in your posession.

this is the great country we live in, not only are they stealing from the guy, now 8 cops are getting upset about it, they shouldnt have even been there. but u are very lucky not to have been arrested.

best thing to do is pay up, even if u know u are wrong doing so. they have set up a system and then set up another one to stop u trying to get round the first one. fighting it is silly....so the way to deal with this is simple...

take the money from someone else, trip over a raised path stone or claim from some other free place the tax payer is coughing up for, u can easily suffer depression and need time off work for it and thats why u pay national insurance. u may feel bad about it at first but unless u want to take it up the rear u have no other choice. remember, dont fight the system, use it for ** own needs.

millions already do.

your going to have to explain to the bailiffs that you simply dont have the money

the bailiffs will leave you alone as long as you give them the money

id contact their office and refer them to your employers. They can vouch for how much your paid, when you last and next paid etc..

that way they can see that you really cant afford the full payment.

just make sure you make an agreement that you actually can keep. Most bailiffs only get irate if the person agrees a payment scheme, then defaults on that. Tell the sob story to the people in the office about you didnt know they were comming. Be nice, dont give attitude, and try to prey to appeal to their better side.

the ones on TV only started getting ruthless when they defaulted on the payment scheme.
