*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Yeah I've been there, you can do click and collect at checkout.

It's a bit of a weird setup to be honest, you've got to ring a bell when you get there and they'll come out with your things. I've personally stopped going there or buying stuff from there because it just feels impersonal at best, and rude at worst.

There's quite a few reports of ignored emails on Detailing World and that's also something I've experienced. It's a shame as the paint correction, PPF and coating job they did back in 2021 was top notch.

@Mekrel
Elite car care, have you been there?
I couldn't see anything online about a shop their
I might travel over there Monday morning if it's possible

GP Customs and Classics in Sonning Common, stocks most of the Gtechniq, Bilt Hamber and Infinity Wax range.

I know the owner, they're trying to sort the website out but they've got the physical shop running. Pricing is in line with all the big guys.

It's corrosion under the lacquer, they need refurbing or just powder coating. Diamond cut wheels are the work of the devil.

As she cant look after her car , her husband cleans it on the odd occasion, but unfortunately they don't care (she can hardly walk etc now at 75 years)
i did not though they were diamond cut ! if i knew that, i may have stepped in and kept them clean myself

Not much you can do really, once there's a stone chip water gets behind and does its thing.

Got a bit twitchy and ordered some more stuff to try from in2detailing:

TAC System Mystic Bubble pH Neutral Shampoo - Seems to be a bit under the radar and is a decent price for a 1500:1 shampoo.
CarPro Hydro2 Lite Wipeless Sealant - I think I may have used it a number of years ago, but I bought it to have as another quick to apply winter protection product.
Garage Therapy /ZERO: Citrus - Nearly out of Stjarnagloss FörstX and wanted to try another citrus product as FörstX has a 50/50 dilution ratio. I haven't seen it on YouTube, but its a decent price so I'll give it a try.
Garage Therapy /ONE: Car Shampoo (V2) - Already have it, but bought a bigger bottle this time around.
Chenille Microfibre Wash Mitt - Keep seeing these chenille mitts mentioned as being the safest for contact washes, so I bought the in2detailing one for £5 to try out. Can always pass it on to my dad if I don't get on with it.

Shampoo seems to disappear quite quickly now I've got two cars to try and keep clean. I also don't seem to have the inclination to go out and decon, polish and wax either of them even though I'm in the middle of a week off at the moment. I don't think the E46 needs the full works, but could do with a full strip back of protection, a cleanser polish and proper wax to see it through to March/April. The E92 definitely needs a proper decontamination and polish, but at least its metallic grey so the swirls the previous owner inflicted don't show as much...

What's everyones go to fallout remover?

Just bought a white car second hand and it's got loads of browny/yellow spots near the wheel arches. Tar remover hasn't shifted them so assuming it's fallout.
