*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

The car is going in tomorrow for some last minute warranty work before the main manufacturer warranty runs out, decided to give it a clean beforrhand as it was filthy due to last cleaning it about 6 weeks ago.
Reminds me of my old Giulia before it went for swim :o

My new one has the same wheels, cool to look at but bloody hell hit a pot hole and your soul will leave your body.

what's a decent leather cleaner? I have Gtechniq L1 for protection but need to clean the leather before applying it. BMW nappa leather if that makes any difference.

Finally got my bum off the sofa and washed the car today.

Leather Repair Company LRC1 cleaner, genuinely amazing leather cleaner. It's not cheap relatively speaking to other cleaners on the market but it sure works. I picked up some Infinity Wax cleaner recently due to wanting something cheaper and it's nowhere near as good as LC1 and leaves a sticky residue unless you use a damp cloth to wipe off.

My mate said he has some Gyeon Q2M leather cleaner so will give that a try first, might need a soft brush to get in there. Does that LRC1 have a scent? I know Autoglym one has which I used many moons ago.

I have tried a few, and currently using the Gyeon. Works quite well for me. I suppose it depends on how dirty your seats actually are though.

It has a leather scent, it smells really good. The Infinity Wax product also has a leather scent but I don't think it's as nice, they call out that other brands have an overpowering and synthetic leather smell but I prefer LC1s scent to their product.

Brush wise, I use two brushes. This one is great for hard to reach areas e.g. where my leather dash meets the windscreen, and I think the other one is just a larger one from Geist for general larger areas such as seats. Although if I were in the market for a brush today, I would probably get CarPro's, I like the angled ends to help get into more intricate spaces.

Gyeon are a good brand so if your mate is offering that, I have no doubt it'll do a good job.

The seats are not mega dirty, just the "lines" in the leather could do with a proper clean then protection. I think the Q2M is the mild version so should be fine with a soft brush.

Came back from Holiday, the car looked a right state with 2 weeks of dust/pollen on top of the normal road crud from the rain we had before that..

So just do a 20 minute maintenance wash (BH Auto Wheels, Touchless, Autowash) and it came up like new again..

I'm loving using spray toppers (I've had Megs Hybrid Ceramic and currently on Turtle Wax Graphene flex wax), once you've just spray/rinsed 2-3 times it'll then last 3-6 months before it needs a quick refresh which is only an additional 2 minute spray/rinse before a normal final dry which takes no effort.

My YouTube thread has been full of DIY detail videos as of late! The marketing, simplicity and product range seems great.
Trying to finish and use up current products before contemplate a switch but their bits seem very good.

Wanted to try out Glaco for a while. Applied it the other day and it went on easy and also very easy to buff off with no smearing or residue. Now looking forward to the rain tomorrow...

Excuse my ignorance, but what are you referring to? I'd like to keep my new car clean but I really hate cleaning it...

Watch some videos on Rinseless washing. Various companies and products out there. This is just one...
