*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

8am today, no sun, it rinsed off ok and looked well once I dried it, just wasn't sure of the appearance when the polar seal went on. Really like using the snow foam lance though!

Did you pressure wash it off?

I’ve had a milky effect using a similar product in the following situations:

Concentration too high
Applied in sun
Didn’t rinse quickly enough

It is always worth rinsing your foam lance in between using different products.

Coming up for 4 years old. And so the Gtechniq Ceramic coating is almost as old.

Today I gave it a snowfoam with some BH Touchless, then a noodle mitt in a bucket of Autowash. Then a blast with some quick detailer, a recipe recommended by Pan The Organiser a few months ago with two Car Pro products (Reload and Ech2O) and it seems to have come out great.

To be fair, it doesn't usually need the QD either. Just fancied giving it a try.

That is one clean Ford.
The Ford is also clean.

I decided not to put a ceramic coating on that one though, as I have ceramic on my Caravelle (which is pictured here) and my A8 (where I used Gyeon MOHS instead of the Gtechniq this time). I wanted to keep something I could still have some fun with trying out different things, ha ha.

I had just polished the Ford the other week with Mezerna 3800, but it didn't really need it. I then topped that with Gyeon Q2 Wax. Will probably bang some of that QD on it on it's next wash. But I may sell that later in the year. Had that almost 6 years now, so maybe time for a change / another challenge.

Can anyone recomend me a Car Polisher? Few scratches on driver side door and bumper.

Watched few Youtube vids on how to use compound/polisher. What could possibly go wrong?

Don't want to be breaking the bank. Probably use it few times a year at most?

Had rear quarter resprayed - orange peel galore as expected, but also wasn't happy with the finish as there were a few specks of dust in there, etc.
Wife had to take it in to be "fixed" and this is how it came back :(

They will of course fix it, but my question is whether it's better to wait a bit for the paint to harden? I hope they can polish it out because getting them to respray it again means going through the whole process again. Thoughts?

Also - this is one of the good body shops!

That can be polished out but it will be tricky due to the creases.

I would be tempted to just take it back and then leave it with them until they’ve actually sorted it.

With those kind of spray on things you are best to go over with a mitt after jet washing it off then do a final rinse and it will dry nice.

I’m sure it’s fine, but it’s a 700w motor - probably closer in cutting potential, and staling resistance to the Das6 V2, which is £90 ish from memory.

The Das6 Pro+ V2 is £144 with code DW10 from this site: https://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/products/das-6-pro-plus-v2
This is the same one right?

£125 but with a 3 inch backing pad instead.

I don’t think so, that’s the Pro v2 rather than Pro+

They’ll both be great though for what you’d likely need!

I've been enjoying the Hex Logic pads recently. Always worked well for me. But they are now needing replaced. So have just recently bought a set of Koch Chemie pads, purple and yellow in 3" and 5", a pair of each. Waiting on a new motore coming before I try them out though.

For wax application I use a Zivver green pad. Which I think is their lowest cut pad, and just zap it about on the slowest speed.
