Carling Cup and PL ganes, 14th to 20th *SPOILERS*

Shocking game between Liverpool and Spurs, Liverpool were really there for the taking and Spurs fluffed the chance (much like when they came to OT earlier this season in the CC). If I were a Spurs fan I'd be massively disappointed by the likes of Defoe tonight, he's scored a shed load of goals this season that is unquestionable but you're got to raise a question about his temperament in the big games - he was anonymous throughout the game

The problem is the linesman didn't give him offside until after Reina had touched the ball therefore he saw little wrong with him not closing down the Greek defender. The fact is the goal was legit and the referees need to start getting some knowledge of the offside rule. If they don't understand it then why is it still implemented.

Lino's often flag late because they wait to see if the defensive team keep the ball (rightly or wrongly). Defoe was in an offside position when the ball was played and he was active when he closed the defender down.

There's confusion because of the late flag but the right decision was made.

Lovely result for Arsenal....top of the table for a few days at least...looks like we are coming good at the right moment as long as we dont suffer anymore injuries ie Fabregas stays fit along with the others...Didnt see the game but reading on BBC website seems like we went 2 down then hit back with 4 goals which is awesome stuff.

LOL @ the spuds...losing to liverpool...best squad my backside:p

Good result for Villa too.

But chuffed beyond belief for Arsenal..still dont know if we will win the title but as long as we still stay in touch i think our chances are extremely good. Hoping that RVP comes back sooner rather than later as that would be a massive boost for us for our title tilt.

Wrong, it was cleared up on air by match officials. He was offside initially, but the flag didn't come. When the Greek defender passed the ball back to the keeper and he took his touch it is a separate spate of play and therefore Defoe was well onside. It was only after the keeper stumbled and Defoe took a shot that the flag went up.

Its irrelevant anyway, as Spurs didnt deserve anything from that game, and even if it had counted, there is no way they would have held on for a draw based on what followed. Gomes the only decent player tonight in a Spurs shirt.

Looks like ill be staying up to watch the highlights of our game against Bolton...just caught the last few mins on sky1 and **** mw what a goal by Arshavin...just wish he would do that more often and really should have laid the ball off for Walcott but nevermind...

Showing some true grit there Arsenal...Chelski and Man Utd should be a tad worried i think...we got a tough game against Villa next then Man Utd then Chelski and Liverppol iirc...so some pretty tough games coming up and hopefully if we can get through them via draws or wins then ill be a happy bunny.
