Carling Cup and PL ganes, 14th to 20th *SPOILERS*

Its irrelevant anyway, as Spurs didnt deserve anything from that game, and even if it had counted, there is no way they would have held on for a draw based on what followed. Gomes the only decent player tonight in a Spurs shirt.

What? You can't call that. If it's suddenly 1-1 the game is now wholly different.

Even more so, not deserving a goal doesn't mean that a seemingly legitimate one shouldn't be given.

Impressed with Arshavin's workrate in the second half tonight, he was frequently closing men down and putting tackles in, something you don't always see.

No doubt some fuss will be made over Gallas' challenge in the buildup to the equaliser, but don't forget Arshavin was wrongly flagged in the first half when clean through, and Fabregas should have had a blatant penalty for the foul by the keeper.

Not to mention the game on Sunday as well where Bolton themselves were guilty time and time again of roughing up, using cheap tactics and generally trying to kick us off the park. One decision doesn't go their way and Owen Coyle and the rest of the Bolton staff go mental. It was a bad tackle, it does look painful in slow motion as well, I'm not defending Gallas but I'm not going to sit here and feel sorry for Bolton after the way they tried to rough up Fabregas in the away game.

Great result to score 4 unanswered goals. Jaaskelainen was absolutely dire, Eduardo had some nice little touches and Arshavin had one of his better games this season. I think we deserved it more because the players obviously wanted it much more than Bolton. As for the Gallas foul well, it's as Wenger said after the game: show me the tackle again and I will show you Boltons tackles from this game and the previous one.

Wrong, it was cleared up on air by match officials. He was offside initially, but the flag didn't come. When the Greek defender passed the ball back to the keeper and he took his touch it is a separate spate of play and therefore Defoe was well onside. It was only after the keeper stumbled and Defoe took a shot that the flag went up.

No matter why the offside decision was given (and nobody cleared it up, we just had Sky guessing at why so I'm not sure where you imagined that), Defoe was offside and one way or another the correct decision was given.

As soon as Defoe makes a movement towards Kyriakos, which he did before he passed it to Reina, he's became active. It's simply offside.

edit: if you were just watching Sky, you'd have seen the lino gesture that he flagged for the initial run by Defoe. As I said, the only confusion is because he delayed the flag.

Indeed, a Yellow card at the very least. I did laugh watching a replay with the commentator saying his eye's weren't even on the ball when all the camera was showing was legs!

I don't think Bolton can complain too much, we had 3 fairly clear penalties not given over the 2 games (1 today), Taylor leaning on Fabregas's head with his leg, whilst pulling his hair, Robinson raking down his calf on Sunday (he was booked).

We haven't had a penalty since the Eduardo incident I believe. It just goes to show how much things like that can effect referee's judgement on teams.

It was also pleasing that for all his injury woes, today Rosicky was flying in there from time to time. He put a meaty challenge or two on Sunday too and wasn't afraid to give it some back.

(Take note Eduardo).

I mentioned that in the previous round of fixtures' thread. Quickly running through our results pages on BBC Sport and it's not only in the league we haven't had one, but in all competitions.

:/

Ridiculous isn't it? Fabregas should have had 2 or 3 penalties given alone. Jaaskelainen came in and knocked him over with his legs on Sunday and did almost an identical challenge earlier as well. I liked Rosicky's goal but Bolton's keeper should have at least tried to save it. I think Zat Knight might have been blocking his view.

It's quite annoying. I just know one of these days it's going to cost us points and games; we have UTD and Villa coming soon. So far it hasn't but of course that doesn't make it right.

The bunch of self righteous so and so's. I mean at least punish those that have a reputation for going over easily. Eduardo? What a terrible (and obviously spineless) choice for a scape goat.

Quality comeback there, really thought it was going to be one of those days and wasn't expecting to get any points at 0-2. Cesc has to be the most dangerous midfielder in the prem at the moment by quite a way. He seems to have got quicker, developed better dribbling skills and found an eye for goal since last season and is absolutely phenomenal every single game. Really think we can push for the title if everyone stays fit. We do need a striker who can score though, Eduardo missed another sitter tonight.

From watching the highlights just now it looked as if Edu had a claim for a penalty, but oh wait, he dives doesn't he?!

If we get through this run of games without dropping many/any points then I really fancy us for the title. I was going to say we might need to bring a striker in if Bendtner doesn't look like returning this month but then we scored 4 goals today and we are still the highest scoring club in the league so I see no reason to spend money needlessly.

The next 4 games will really test you. Personally I can see you dropping points in all 4

Yes it will be a big test but its not inconceivable that we could come out of it with 7 or 9 points which will leave us in a great position with a much easier run in than the other teams around us.

well just got back from the match. Liverpool played about the best I have seen this season.

Aquilani was great, showed a lot of creativity and movement. Still a few rough edges in Lucas' game but he worked well with Mascherano to hold the midfield.

Still a long way to go in terms of regaining the form of last year, but encouraging signs afoot..
