Cat C Bike

Idk might keep it might sell it on

It's too clean to ride year round on,so I'll use my current 600 for winter

Edit: it was something I've always wanted to do,fix up a crash damaged machine, and see how much money I could save over an undamaged one

it owes me £3500 so far with the bike and the parts ive needed

they sell for between £4500-£5200 same year/mileage undamaged

dropped the forks off today waiting now to hear from them

Personally I'd only buy a write off if I intended to keep it and run it until it died, they take a pretty hefty hit on resale price so unless you get a really cheap salvage deal and parts you'll never make quite as much as you hoped.

yeah it will always be a cat c bike,

it depends how heavy it is on fuel for a daily commuter,if its not too bad ill keep it,i don't think ill lose any money on it though

Well its younger than mine but same model so I'd expect it to be around the 40-50MPG mark

yeah I get roughly 44mpg on my 98 model

so if it can do around that i'll be happy

EDIT: was missing a fair few bolts and fasteners aswell,i think whoever assessed the damage forgot to put half the fixings back in,got most of the bolts now just need one that holds the seat on

led for me,look so much better than yellow tinged lights, gonna order a hid kit soon for both lights

morelikley they were used to fix up the companies hire bikes etc :p

Yeah, the kit comes from the states, its a plug and play system so should be straightforward but I'll do a step by step guide when I get it

no I wish,i think it was introduced on the 2012 models onwards

ordered the hid kit,i nearly fell for the zx6r specific kit, found a much cheaper uk based car kit which should fit the same as its h11 bulb fitment £20 for both lights all in

also picked up a second hand r&g radiator guard, paint is peeling a little at the bottom but ill soon spray it up,bargain for £29

spent a bit of time with a paintbrush and very fine garden wire, and dug out all the encrusted flies/bugs out of the radiator, looks far better

hpi means no finance owing on it? it will always remain a cat c,think you have to declare it aswell if you sell it on

no they are projector lenses as standard, thats why im sticking in a hid kit:Dits just easier to do it while the fairings off,its all in one piece on this bike top/side fairings/headlights all one piece, rather silly imo

@mucky your lucky haha, wont devalue your bike

did a bit of googling and its dead easy to pull the error codes on these models

just press mode till it shows the odometer

then press and hold the mode button till it displays the error code, which for me was code 63 which is the exhaust servo which I suspected as it doesn't twitch/turn after you turn off the ignition

cured the flashing fi warning light

someone had wired the control wires on the exhaust servo backwards, just swapped them over and no flashing fi light:D
