Get an sp engineering big bore on there or an ap Austin. The stick out one looks like it would melt your heel, unless you get a little heat shield behind your peg?

The log book arrived today, can't believe its had 5 owners:eek:

Last owner only had it since June last year, and wrote it off in a year

forks are done and ready to pickup

welded the bracket on and said there was an ever so slight bend at the bottom in the one with the broken tab and he's straightened it out

£40 it cost me,so should have them back in tomorrow, ill post some pics when I get them

got the forks back, straightened and welded, also test fitted my hid kit which arrived this morning, was a straightforward plug and play although I had to hacksaw a thin slice off the connector that was attached to the ballast so that my headlight bulb connector would fully click in,apart from that it was easy 2 minute job,you can see the thin slice I cut off in one of the pics

the difference is amazing, pure bright white light compared to the regular bulb,i went with a 55w 6000k bulb

fitted the high beam, and gotta do the main beam later

forks back in and test fitted new fairing, nearly done now,few more bits and pieces

I don't suppose you took a before/after pic of the beam down your garden or something did you?

I can do that when I put it all together, ill leave the main beam with a regular bulb in so you can see the difference at night, the fairings dead awkward, you have to bolt the side fairings onto the top fairing first, then bolt the headlight to the top fairing then try to fit the whole thing to the bike

fitted the fairing/headlights today, also cut out a small piece to allow for the r&g radiator cover bracket

99% done now, just need a few fairing fasteners/rear pillion peg and inner right side fairing cover/trim

EDIT: refitted the screen correctly later haha

took some pics for you benji, best I can do with my crappy phone, showing the hid compared to the normal bulb, and one with just the led sidelights, the colour is pure white to the naked eye yet it shows up blue on pictures idk why

if I were you id get a kit,im pleased with the results

this is the kit I used although ive seen a cheaper one for £13 so shop around, you want a h11 fitment or h8/h9/h11 usually they are banded together like that

EDIT: remember its high beam vs low beam so it might look off,but its best way I can show you, compare each light

Perfect, thank you Wazza.

The lighting range is great as standard however I feel that the quality of it isn't good close up if that makes sense.

I hope this thread has inspired you to try a cat c bike,i very nearly pulled out but im glad I didn't now,the damage wasn't a lot tbh,it was a fairly easy fixup, still risky though so id advise anyone to be carefull and look it over thoroughly if you can:D;)

EDIT:I saved roughly between £1000-£1500 over a similar year/mileaged undamaged machine

I NEED a motorbike back in my life! lol

Hope I can still sit on one after being made to sit on a car bonnet at 20mph+!

Still can't sit down without pain after 5 week!

lets hope you heal up eventually, just give it time

pick yourself up a bike to tinker with over the coming winter months

@BenJi I went out on it tonight just round the block, the lights are much better than any of my other bikes:eek::D

looks great mate :)

you taken her for a spin yet?

EDIT: i loaded this thread up but hadn't replied. what do you make of the bike? going to keep?

EDIT2: I'll look at some of those bulbs now, on way home tonight from london there is just an awful deadspot about 2M-5M in front of the bike.
