Fair enough about GPU usage but game ping is irrelevant

Very lazy and unclean to not uninstall before installing new drivers!

And your suprised you get Blue screens?

Process:

. Express unistall all ati software

. Reboot

. Delete all lingering ATI folders on program files etc

. Install new drivers

. Reboot if neccesary

It takes like 5 mins or less

Additionally the 10.6 drivers seem to be a good release.

There should be no need to remove old drivers first or use driver sweeper ( causes more trouble then its worth) . Should just be able install over the top as normal . Reboot and good to go :) . Think just wait for ati to sort the 10.6 drivers out . My 2 x 5770 run just fine on 10.4 anyway

Driverswepper can kill your system nowadays with ATI software as I learnt the hard way. I used it to tray and go back from 10.5 beta to 10.4 and it wouls never let me install CCC again. Had to reinstall windows to fix it. That was the first time I had tried using driver sweeper for years.

The guy who is involved in writing these drivers said on his blog the best way is to install over the top. I always have and never had issues. The only time I didn;t I had a nightmare.

Each set up is so different, the only real way to know if they are good for you or not is to download and install them. I find dirt 2 runs fine for me on the 10.6 drivers and have not had any issues so far at all in crossfire... seems like a cracking set of drivers to me - stable and faster than the 10.5's

This is the method i used and these still gave me the bsod after reboot. Others have the same problem, it has nothing to do with the installation method.

Ah, I just read somewhere else on this forum, that there maybe some crossfire issues with the 10.6 drivers?

I have no idea, if they are not working for you, just use the 10.5 untill a hot fix or the 10.7 are released.

The 10.6 driver do not play well with my 3870x2!

I installed the driver on its on as I normally do, fired up BFBC2 and it was stuttering, I was getting black screens with just the blue objective makers visable, it was loading the maps really jerkily, the 10.5 drivers work great!

I also tried installing the profiles (which I dont usually) but this didnt change a thing.

would say thats pretty harsh dont you? I would say about the same as other sets, improves for some people and they have no problem and others have a problem.

On 10.4s here - just curious is all. From reading this thread is seems these ones cause more problems than they're worth - ie human faeces
