CES 2025 AMD & Nvidia Keynote Live Chat [06/01/25]

You just know Asus has a 5080 in the wings at this point that's decked out with a Noctua setup, although I would love to see if they produce a 5090 Asus x Noctua edition as well given the 5090 can be kitted into a (roughly) 2 slot design now by NVidia.

Palit, never stop with your mediocre designs.

That said, that anti-bend frame looks interesting (although I expect other AIBs will do the same).

Don't mind the look of the 5090 from Palit, especially if it comes with 5 years warranty, might be needed with these toasters.

MSI Suprim X once again looking delightful and will be priced accordingly.

Well as I said to 1 rendered frame we get 3 generated. 75% of blurry trash, but at 4x fps..reminds me stupid thing about 500hz TVs, which take 24frame input and the ln turn a film into sloppy trash...not very impressed gents

Personally not that impressed by frame generation even the more advanced versions, it does work quite well in some cases though where you already have quite high frame rate and use it to get a stable slightly higher framerate i.e. if you are getting say 80-120 FPS and use it to get 120 FPS. In situations where you need it the most i.e. 40-50 FPS it tends to have quite a lot of negatives that might not be immediately apparent but once you notice them you can't "un-notice" them.

The problem I have with FG is 1) extra input latency is annoying and 2) overlapping textures when the camera is moving causes ghosting and it happens in every game with FG

Due to this I hate using FG and avoid it whenever possible. So rtx5000 is of little interest because frame generation sucks and I'll never use it

Hmm while the price doesn’t seem too bad relatively, from the limited stuff I’ve read , the 5090 doesn’t seem a huge improvement.
I’m not really bothered with high refresh rate and frame generation, or a.i. for that matter.

Yeap I never use FG on my 4090, it cause to many artifacts.

Presuming a 1000w psu is not enough for a 5090? That effectively forces my hand in going for a 5080 (upgrading from 3080) if I don’t want to change the PSU

Should be fine :p

Yep.

What you want is hitting 120fps with it on, if not you will see issues.

Sounds like Grim is starting to get price sensitive.

What happened to the I will smash my 3090 with a hammer guy? Lol.

Yeah I'm not a fan really, and even more fake frames sounds like a bad input latency experience. Personally I would like to try it on a 480Hz screen and see what the motion clarity is like - shouldnt have input issues there with high base frame rate.

It is sad. But it could have been worse with the AI craze on.

Would be nice if they can hit £699 with the 5070 Ti FE.

When you consider last gen prices, not to sad.
5070ti is calling to me to upgrade to Nvidia from Radeon.

More compelling than the 9070XT.
