Unfortunately not. Greatness takes time and achievement, something that Chelsea can try and do but not before he retires from the game. So with that he wouldn’t have ended his career with an established great team.

What does an 'established great team' consist of?

Surely a great team only requires great players to be so. Chelsea certainly have that :) They have the best squad in the world.

A great team is one that has a history. A history that has many European and domestic trophies in it.
Milan is one of these. Juve is arguably one of these. Real is one of these. Barca can be argued to be as well.
Chelsea's only wins of note are the Premiership titles. They wont be a great team until they have several CL trophies and 10+ league titles under their belt.
At the moment, they are nothing more than an 'up-and-coming' team.

As has been said: You cant buy greatness. You can only buy players.

A squad with great players doesn’t make them a great team. A great team is established after their achievements in football. The players are irrelevant. Chelsea have not done that yet.

Maybe we are talking in different contexts here though...

Milans involvement in this mess, according to evidence shown upto now, is inconsequencial. And i'd hardly call 2 losses and a draw match fixing! Would you?

We are. Is it really in a player's mind what history a side has if he has the chance to play with better players in the now?

Depends on what you mean by 'better' players. Along with him in the Milan side, there are world class players there already so it may have a part to play but i don’t think the main reason why players move, certainly not from Milan anyway.

I mean moving to the best squad in the world. He has just done that. I don't think Chelsea's history would have had much of an impact on it.

I don’t think it made an impact on his decision either and yes he certainly has moved to a team with great players but my original argument was that he wont end his career with a great team, which he wont if he stays at Chelsea till he retires. Milan, Juve, Madrid, Ajax are widely recognised as great teams even if they are not the best team in the world right now they are still great teams and players will be proud to play for them because of that (even though pride means little to footballers these days). Chelsea are not there yet.
 
well when man u, liverpool etc had the money they brought players the best players they could get, same thing chelsea is doing now.

cl chelsea v liverpool wasnt a goal, liverpool had luck playing againist the blues, if chelsea win 2 more pl in a row then they would be the greatest team in uk history.

Well, at the end of the day whether you think it was or not, it was a goal.

And theres nothing Chelsea can do that will ever make them the greatest team in uk history, it will always be marred.

why will it be flawed? because they have the money now? so then you saying man u are flawed also because they had the money in the 90s etc...

Thing is, those teams are historically great. Chelsea are the current greatest team.

I'd be prouder of playing for the current best team, not the historically-best-but-currently-not-doing-so-well team :)

Marred?

Every team that has won the Prem has 'bought' it. They've all brought in players to get them to the title.
