Chinese Grand Prix 2010, Shanghai - Race 4/19

Hopefully they will discuss the white line pitstop rules, I'm sure they just can't cross it when leaving pits.

There's been quite a few hints IMO so far this season that the McLaren F-duct, at least the cockpit side of it, was Hamilton's idea.

Anyone else noticed this?

Good news. Jake is cool.

Yeah. Makes sense to me that they can't cross the lines on the way out but on the way in people are slowing down and coming off the track.

Nope. Not heard this at all. Reckon this is what cause Lewis to fire his Dad as manager? :p

Seriously though, any links to show this? :)

Forum is on now.
W00t. Just in time for tea.

Anything at all to support this? Completely new to me.

Kubica becoming remarkably solid this season, impressive stuff.

Massa was flattered by having a uninterested Kimi as a team mate. If Alonso was with ferrari instead of Kimi we would be talking about Alonso having 4 world titles now.

Agreed - (sorry JRS who is sticking up for Massa)

Whilst Massa can be quick on a good day, when he is in the best car in the field, with Rob Smedley telling him how to drive whilst his teammate is thinking of icecream - this year with a team mate who is on the ball he is being made to look like a monkey.
Ever when he is fast he has no race craft at all. With no ability to overtake and seemingly without the confidence to make his own decision he is seriously lacking behind Alonso.

something i just thought about.

this weeks news has been dominated by redbull having some kind of adjusting suspension.

this weekend they stick both cars on front row of grid, come race they have no pace and finish way down. is it because they havent adjusted there suspension because they got found out????????1111??

/popcorn :p

this is a joke

PinkFloyd - seriously? You really think someone with abolutely no racecraft at all took The Almighty Messiah Our Lord And Saviour Lewis Hamilton™ to the final round for the title in '08?

Really?

If so, then what does that say about Hamilton?

No, I'm sorry. I think you guys are talking complete rubbish. Give him a good car and Massa will be at the pointy end again. And given what happened to him last year I find it amazing that he has managed to get back into a GP car at all, never mind (briefly) lead the championship. I'd never try and claim he's the best driver on the grid (because Button is right now), but he's certainly a lot better than the prevailing opinion on here IMHO.

*sighs at race*

I realise Jenson Button is technically a good F1 driver but i find his driving, and personality so tediously boring it makes me cry when i see him win.

He [Alonso] can have gear selection issues, get punted and end up at the back or get a drive through and have 5 stops, yet he's still blasting massa out the water for pace.

ROTFLMAO.

I gotta say that's one of the funniest thing I've read today. What makes it even more amusing is that its actually true.

I know what you mean I'm sure I speak for everyone on OCUK when I say that I missed Vetels finger celebration. :D

JRS. I would argue that Ferrari have the joint 2nd best car on the grid (behind RedBull), along with McLaren.

Had Alonso not had anything extraordinary happen to him in the last 4 races (eg. no pitstop penalty, not ending up at the back of the grid, due to a shunt, not having a DNF), Alonso could well be leading the WDC. Only these incidents have prevented him from leading the title race.

I contend that this year's Ferrari is capable of winning the title.

Massa is certainly a decent No.2 driver and can definitely assist Ferrari winning the constructors' title. He has shown this over the last few years. He just isnt in the same class as Alonso and to this end, Ferrari would be better off backing Alonso completely to ensure they don't reach the end of the season and lose the WDC by a few points.

Massa seems to be holding Alonso up in every race this year. It took an almost illegal overtake (which we saw today), to get past Massa and then pull away.

dannyjo22, sunama - remind me again which drivers have multiple podium finishes this season?

Jenson has two wins. Rosberg two third places. Lewis a third and a second. And oh good heavens, look at that. Massa, with a second and a third as well. Who would'a thunk it? Hell, you could almost think that he was a pretty good driver....

Thank you sunama, for making my point so eloquently for me.

He is a good driver. He is good enough to drive as a No.2 driver for one of the leading teams. He just isnt good enough to warrant equal No.1 status with Alonso. Today was an excellent example, where despite a stop-go penalty, Alonso climbed all over the back of Massa, overtook him, then pulled away. In previous races, what has happened is Alonso gets stuck behind Massa, doesnt/cant overtake Massa and then has his race, effectively, ruined.

What we are saying is that Ferrari need to recognise this and perhaps define a policy where if a Ferrari driver is climbing all over the back of another Ferrari driver, the driver in front, should give way. This is actually a strategy which used to be practised in previous decades (to avoid 2 team-mates taking eachother off).
