Chinese Grand Prix 2011, Shanghai International Circuit - Race 3/19

If vettel gets pole who evers 2nd has prob the first lap to make a move then it's his race.

Yep and I said if it's hamilton this week instead of Button, Vettels lead gets even bigger and he's laughing his backside off.

Easy pickings for Vettel right now, by half season it will look like being over and the FIA will declare new measures to stop the flexi wing in the hope of getting a competitive season for 2012.

The ferraris are out of it this year. Last year they didn't start with the best car but still picked up decent points early on and Vettel had woes. They won't get into it this year, they are too far back and the RB is too strong without issues that hamper the speed and reliability. They have the pace to live with Kers issues.

Ferrari appear to be threatening to pull out of F1... again...
Seriously Luca di Mentalzemolo - you are the slimy git who cried wolf.

“The contracts expire at the end of 2012. We need to discuss now how to proceed. Ferrari will continue to be there, so long as the sport gives us back something for the development of technology of our production cars. Otherwise not"

Bye bye. Don't let the door hit on you on the arse on the way out.

Don't Ferrari get a cut of the revenue, 10% IIRC.

Vettel on 50 points.
2nd placed man on 26 points.

Scoring almost double the points of your closest rival is pretty far ahead in my book.

Nearly a whole race in points ahead is certainly a lot, especially after only 2 races!!! Plus, I wouldn't even consider Button in 2nd to be Vettel's closest rival, so the gap could be more than it seems.

...but when you get 25 for a win, it only takes a Vettel DNF or mishap to turn that around rather quickly.

As a rival team/driver, you cannot rely/hope for Vettel to get a DNF, as the basis for your title challenge. You need to assume that he will finish all the races and design car/driver/package which will beat Vettel/RBR.

After 2 races, Vettel basically has double the points. The level of advantage is massive when you think that nobody was able to put Vettel under genuine pressure, during the race.

TBH if vettel just runs away at the front every race I'll be happy to concentrate on the battle between the two maclarens, alonso, webber and the renaults.

mate, are you blind????? lol

there is a reason for this, Mclaren were testing new airo packages, im sure mclaren have the same pace as redbull so don't worry. :)

I was going by what Anthony Davidson(5 Live) was saying. That vettel was taking it easy round the corners and lewis was going for it.

Anthony Davidson said he could tell that vettel had more fuel then lewis by the way vettel was driving and he was still faster.

Ferrari wont leave. They need F1 far more than F1 needs them, although they will never admit it.

Before when they were threatening to leave I would agree with you. Not these days, F1 viewing figures are diving and the sport isn't interesting and simple enough to attract the short attention spanned kids of today.

So many people watch purely because of Ferrari. I'm not a fan of Ferrari but it would dire consequences for F1's popularity should they leave.

Ferrari doesn't need F1 to sell cars and merchandice anymore than Porsche needs F1 to shift all the cars it builds.

There is no doubt McLaren are pushing to the limit and Red Bull are taking it easy. There is plenty of pace in the Red Bull.

He could be on about the 1.6ltr engines the fia want to bring in as they are no good for ferrari road cars.

The FIA don't want to bring them in - they are coming. It was approved by the WMSC.

Not keen on the idea myself, but if it gets Mentalzemolo away from F1 - it's all good. ;)

The grid would be a worse place without Ferrari.
Could only see more big name teams leaving in the future, a grid full of disappointments with only Red Bull and Mclaren bothering? No thanks.
