City Fibre

if you can name a Cityfibre me a provider that does Gigabit for £35 please feel free. I am yet to find one. Giganet works out at £30 with their 3 months free, but everyone else price is much higher (around £40 range)

Vodafone had a £35 a month deal with a voucher up until very recently :-)

Brillband does for me right now but it's Scotland only (cause it's better ), Vodafone often does deals on the gigabit tier.

Whats Brillband like for speeds? I'm with Vodafone but contract is up in August so wondering if I should switch. Other alternatives are TalkTalk, Zen and Giganet and all seems to have some issues with customer service or speeds (i.e. Zen).

vodafone price increase and 24month contract do keep me away for it. I havent seen the 1gig deal in a while, as it has been lower than £30 a while back, but has kept stable at £35 until recently. Altought those who took the £30 face now a price now and another next April

I hope that doesn't happen, three nationwide wholesale fibre providers should be sustainable. If it has to be sold then anybody but Virgin.

Don't know as I don't have them but they only offer a 900mbits tier

Zen, Giganet, IDNet, Andrews & Arnold, Yayzi

I suspect the question is actually "what providers offer cashback deals, low monthly prices and don't have RPI increases in the terms", and the answer to that is contained within the question.

Nice list

only 1 is available in my town & price wise those are not great some do not even offer for people that want it landline.

Has anybody else had CityFibre say they live on a private road when they don't?

Basically, CityFibre have completed their rollout in my area and there are people on my street who have signed up to Vodafone etc through CityFibre.

When I put my address into the checker on their website it says I cannot signup as I live on a private road. I sent a ticket to support which went in one ear and out the other. They replied saying that I live on a private road so need the permission of the land owner, even though I explained in the ticket it is not a private road and other people on my road are connected to their network.

I tried signing up though Vodafone thinking they would be able to push it through their end. The signup went fine, the Vodafone system showed it was available and all seemed good. But then Vodafone contacted me saying CityFibre had cancelled the install their end because I live on a private road and there was nothing Vodafone can do about it.

I've tried calling CityFibre but the people I speak to never seem to have a clue what to do, they just repeat that their system shows my road is private, even though they agree that other people on my road are signed up through their network. It keeps going around in circles. It's frustrating because my contract with BT is due for renewal in 3 weeks (I'm on their gigabit package) and Vodafone is half the price of what my renewal with BT will be with the added benefit that it's symmetrical speeds instead of having the lower upload I have with BT.

It appears to be a system error with CityFibre and I have no idea who to contact now for them to take a look and amend it. But I fear until they do this I'll be locked out of all providers who use CityFibre and I can't imagine it will fix it's self so this will be ongoing into the foreseeable future :(

I’m pretty sure there is an email to get through to their civil engineering team.

Update to my weird situation where Kelly Comms wouldn't drill through wood:

I've tried getting in touch with City Fibre directly, and I've been advised that it's up to the installation company whether they will drill through wood. This contradicts what Kelly Comms have said to me, which is they're happy to do it, but City Fibre won't let them.

City Fibre also said it's okay to use the hole BT drilled, but Kelly again said they can't.

Not sure on the best way forward here. I've had quotes privately, ranging from 80 to 100 quid to get it done, which seems excessive to drill a hole.

Is there a TV aerial installer in your area? If you don't care about timing then it could be something that gets done when someone is passing, but if a trade has to travel out to you then I can see where those cost estimates have come from.
