Clamping the homeless?

On the bright side, I understand that Prince Charles will be spending a year with the homeless at his mothers pleasure. He is to be sharing a cell with an old school chum. In some speech or other he was giving the other day, he said he "wanted to do his bit". He has spent the last few weeks in a "Practice" prison at the Rolls Royce factory and is looking forward to his stint.

Some people are trying to help the homeless though, so it's not all one sided

This one lady was on the news trying to organise a Jam festival to raise money. The news reader had a huge go at her for only raising £1500 over 6 months though.

I didn't see him doing anything to help

sorry but lol. are those pictures real???

What are they expected to do exactly once they have been clamped. What will the person clamping them do?

"The clamps ensure that any drunk causing a blockage are forced to stay put when they wake up. They are then to be prosicuted and punished"

I think it's a deterant as much as anything, they aren't harmed and it keeps the public safe.

In addition to this, the clamped person will be "fined for being in the way".

Im sure it will be quite a big deterant as i can see public throwing stuff at them as they cant do anything (im presming the clamps stop them from walking around or possibly even getting up)

I agree that the homeless on the streets is a big problem. However the only way to solve the problem is to offer them help. No normal person would choose to sleep on the streets so it is obvious that they have problems and need some help to become normally functioning members of society.

No Personal Attacks! - K

To back up your argument care to explain why you were homeless?

No, not really. Again, I refer you to post 46. Learn to read a paragraph when your teacher says you're good enough at sentences.

All you need to know was that circumstances were way out of my control, and rest assured, if it could have been avoided, it sure as hell would have been. December is not a fun time to doss down outside.

As for whatever your personal attack was, get over it kid... your post that I Quoted was completely mindless and fair game. If you want to repeat it though, I'll find a way to get you my email, as I can't post it in a family forum.

I honestly can't belive how retarded some people on here are if they thought for a second this was real.

I mean come on ffs you realise this breaks laws, and also would be on every tv station every newspaper every internet news site within moments of them saying it, and their subsequent arrest if they tried it.

Also look at he clams they aren't even remotely tight around their feet and its probably from some protest against car clamping.

Jesus you can see how all these internet scammers make a **** load of cash of this country can't you.

I understand, in breaking news, the government are considering extending the "Clamping" to include imigrants, anyone who looks a bit "funny", people with goatee beards and anyone short and dumpy with the bad ears called "Susan". Medium Susans are ok.

I have to own up, it was a complete lie, a fabrication for my own enjoyment. I must say I found most of the replies hillarious while other bought up some very valid points. I do feel there is a huge problem with so called "Homeless" on the streets of Brighton, these poor folk are usually addicted to whichever substance they can cheaply obtain. There go us all really but for the grace of whichever you personally believe in. There are not too many steps to take to go down the same road, life is a fragile balance to me. I do sometimes feel I have to "Run the gauntlet" of "spare change" people as I am asked at least a dozen times a day.

I do also feel I left enough clues as to this being a wind up from the beginning. I mean come on, who the hell is going to clamp a human being? Its taken from "The Day Today". I ended my statement by saying the words "these days today" and my signature include headlines from the show.

This very evening, on my door step, were two police officers and a homeless man and woman. They were completly blocking my doorway while the police searched the man. Nothing to do with my house at all. The man was quite obviously off his proverbial nut and was apologising to everyone. All his belongings were strewn across my door steps. I had to ask them to move just so I could get in my own front door. I am drawing no conclusions from these events. I often have to fight my way past drunks hunched up drinking in my doorway. Its just around a corner off a main road and sheltered. I find this quite annoying when I have struggled back with bags of shopping or my ex drops off the kids.

To those who may have thought I should be in the SS, well people who know me personally would vouch for my open mind and I bear no malace to anyone, well almost. My personal view on humanity is we are all exactly the same and should not be prejudged. Judge by actions I feel is correct. I apologise if I offended anyone, but I have really been enjoying this thread.

"It stimulates the part of the brain called "Shatner's Bassoon" and that's the bit of the brain that deals with time perception. So, a second feels like a month.

Well, it almost sounds like fun...unless you're the Prague schoolboy who walked out into the street straight in front of a tram. He thought he'd got a month to cross the street."

Brilliant. I thought something was fishy, that's why I hesitated to post until now. Some of the peoples' reactions to this thread has been hilarious.

And now the weather with Sylvester Stuart. The day will start gloomy in the south, a bit like waking up next to a corpse. Rain later, with drops the size of a wrestler. Fortunatly most of these will not quite reach the ground. On to the north east, a strong and highly long lasting day there, some heavy thunder storms, about as loud as a woman. Hail later, aimed vertically down from above and there will be a 30% chance.

Okay, as someone who has actually been homeless, I think I may be able to contribute something useful to what I presume is a joke thread...

As has been stated, the vast majority of homeless people are actually quite happy as they are. A large amount of them are pickled beyond help due to their addictions. They are unlikely to ever be in a position to get a job, even the most menial. Most won't want to, as it involves effort, and not being wasted out of your skull.

Some people get there through no fault of their own (As in my case, and no, I'm not about to go into details, thanks), and do want help.

It is unsightly to see people comatose in shop doorways, but, in general, the ones you see are the ones who don't give a **** about what you think. The one's that want help? You won't see them unless desperation forces them to be in a public place. Why? Embaressment(sp?)... they knew exactly what they though of the Homeless until they became one.

Unless you have been there, stop judging... m'kay?

Are you back on your feet now?

Are you back on your feet now?

Nah, am posting from a stolen Laptop over a Stolen WiFi connection in the carpark at the back of marks n sparks... LOL:D

Aye, it was a good few years ago now. Just watch your landlords folks, some of em are scum...

I have to say for me yesterday this was one of the funniest threads in a long time.

It was kind of like watching a social experiment and it shows how some people are willing to believe the ridiculous as long as it backs up their own agenda. I also think it also sparked some pretty interesting debate on the real subject.

Perhaps I ought to chime in here...but where exactly are these free hostels again? I had to pay £22 a night (and quickly went into an overdraft)...
