COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

Looking at the XBOX 360 video just posted there looks to be ZERO recoil on every gun. Will this just be the case for the consoles or is this usually the case for PC as well?

The only COD I have played are the originals and call of duty 2, and its been along time since I played them. Obviously I am not expecting in any way a realistic game, but to have almost no recoil is just stupid.

The guns in MW/MW2 don't have much recoil either but arguably this makes the game more playable than fully realistic guns would do.

I'm in the same boat, and have been watching developement very closely.
I agree that there should be some form of recoil, but then compared to the CoD games we were used to the guns are much more modern pieces of kit.
So long as there's some it's alll good :P

trey made uo and it had the best recoil out of the lot then cod1. bar/garrand recoil ftl :D

after it became console time with cod2 where it all started. idont mind the recoil stuff if everyones the same as it is a mute point then as no one has a advantage over each other. i would prefer it in but if it aint i aint gunna not buy the game.

Sorry if this has been said before but will COD:BO have punkbuster?

Also I hope they get rid of the commando perk... so annoying getting knifed from 10 metres away.

VAC. Punkbuster sucks ass.

Yes because Commando was the only annoying addition they made in MW2

1. At least you can do PB screenshots - ban players from ladders/cups etc.

2. Commando is the addition I find most annoying, and I've not heard anyone mention it yet.

Yes because as we all know, a screenshot can prove/disprove an aimbot/multihack...

I imagine most ladders/cups would adapt to VAC and as such, ban proven hackers from entering themselves. At least, the serious ones anyway. Any hacker serious enough to be entering them will have a very finely tuned multihack and would be very hard to detect. VAC may not be as great as PB for some things but at least i can play the ****ing game without having to screw around with it.

I don't think a 50+ player server with everyone using the ******* RC car/predator missiles (or whatever there called in BO) etc etc is going to be much fun do you?

Especially when it seems that disabling the killstreaks is supposedly against the TOS.

Well at least it proves wall hacking and disallowed external graphics tweaks (I'm talking competitive scene here).

You can't permanently prevent hackers from playing the game, either with PB or VAC. Serious hackers will have multiple steam ID's.

I've never had to "screw around" with PB. Most games I've played competitively have used PB - including COD4, and look how popular that is/was competitively!

as soon as mods come out they ll mod it so you can have 50 man servers but these will be on unranked servers and ranked ones will be locked to max of 18 i believe.

do you think cod 4 had 50 man servers to start with :)

You have a point, sure..... maybe having 30 vs 30 was even too much in cod4, but the team sizes in MW2 where too small!!

Too small for me anyway.

what I didnt like, is you start a game say 6vs6 a few people drop out as they do and your down to 4v4 or less, just gave the games an unpopulated feel. Like you was playing same crap game that nobody wanted to play....

Also I was allways wanting a game that promoted team work, and BFBC2 gave me that...

dont get me wrong tho, COD4 was absolutley epic, its just I feel MW2 allowed the Battlefield series to leap frog it as the top dog in this space.
