COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

That was Kotick's plan, wasn't it? There was that speech last year about how Activision has no interest in titles that cannot be exploited year after year across multiple platforms.

Edit: Which is why I haughtily disdain people for continuing to buy in to the same crap year after year. I taught one of my dogs to open the back door by herself, now I'm teaching her to turn the key if it happens to be locked. It's taken two years and she's just got the hang of nibbling at the key, so we've got a long way to go yet, but she still learns faster than some of you people. Jesus Christ.

Brilliant :D

cods always come out every november since cod 1 . key selling time for games

also i believe the next one will be in space or totally different . the new team they have for it are who makes dead space also seen in a few interviews refferences to space shoot em ups . you never know.

hopefully they re- do a new engine but these dont take a year to do. would you turn down hundreds of millions down every year ?

I hope it isn't in space :/

why not ?

everything has been done to death something needs to be redone differently

space fps cant think of many.

I don't understand why people always scream NOT SPACE!!!!!!!

They seem to be mixing up what real future nations fighting conflicts in space might look like with their idea of LASERS AND ALIENSSSSS.

Any break away from this tiresome modern day conflict genre that has cropped up would be welcome imo.

1. Shattered Horizon
2. Mass Effect
3. Alien Vs Predator

Just three off the top of my head...

meant in comparision to war ones :p

basically they need to step back rejig the franchise for gamers . whether they would risk losing hundreds of millions in sales i dont think this will happen. space cod will happen though cause no one is doing it well. or done it for the masses lately.

Half the appeal of MW is that it is set in modern day IMO.

I reckon a CoD in space would bomb. I want real life, real guns, real places, not some fantasy game.

Sounds like Unreal Tournament.

If they were to do a futuristic CoD it would just become a complete farce, which is saying something given that it already is 1. Weapons would just be typical sci fi ********, environments would be too. It would basically become Unreal Tournament except crap.

Besides, we have some Iraq and Afghanistan war games to come. After all theres only so often you can do WWII and Vietnam before moving onto more recent wars :p

Oh wait they already are, they're just too pathetic to actually acknowledge that the enemies are the taliban... /cough opforce /cough

.

well cods last space scene had blast waves in space...

But "enemy corpse/stray bolt travelling at 17,000mph crits you for 9000", is going to be irritating :p

they are focusing on quantity rather than quality, I am sure they have to get their money from the gamers before they have to pay out for the lawsuit :)
Another 3 hour single player mission?

Problem with space games is to make them playable you have to ignore the whole space side of things and basically have any other FPs game but wearing funny suits.

You've got to ignore the fact space is a vacuum for 1 (ie 1 bullet hit and congrats you're going to die because your suit has a hole).

then most of the time you've got to ignore the fact there's no gravity, because while they have been done well full 3d flying around games aren't as much fun as you'd think.

Then there's the whole space is pretty empty thing and it's hard to make a map of so you end up with an fps game in an enclosed space station with artificial gravity, basically CS/cod but with a funny costume and a nice view out the window.
