Because the average console gamer doesn't like to think for themselves and likes their hand to be held whilst playing their games. Since pc exclusive fps titles are becoming a thing of the past this is what we have to look forward to. Enjoy.
 
The lagginess is getting to me... MP feels like running through treacle :( even tho I'm getting solid fps if feels like 15-30fps.
 
Running an E6700, 4 gig of ram and a GTX260. I can't actually play the game, in single player I get horrible FPS running at 1680 x 1080 (all graphics options on the lowest). Even at lower resolutions it is bad. The cut scenes max out my CPU and stutter all over the place. Don't even mention multiplayer! Really hope they release a fix soon as everything I have tried hasn't worked :(
 
Well, when I tried the game yesterday I didnt have a problem to see and join servers, but as of today, there is no way i can play online, as the server browser is showing nothing. Am I alone with this issue?
I also had/have the fps problem that a lot of others has.
 
For anyone getting stuttering even in single player, try playing the game on a fresh install of Xp. I know this isn't ideal, but at least you get to play the game.

My Spec. [email protected], 4870/512mb, 4GbDDR2, Win7.64

Stutters pretty badly on Win7. Tried all the fixes known to man. Didn't make a huge differene.

Installed in on a spare drive - Xp fresh install with Sp2 and it runs like Cod4.

I can get the SP and 'offline' MP fine to be honest (60fps+) @ 1920x1200. BFBC2/WAW/MW2 are all 'fine' too.

MP is out of the question, 11-33fps. Lag, rubberbanding and just unplayable. At least I can have fun smashing bots. That's worth £28,... right? :(

Gave up its just rubbish at the moment. I feel like ive got a voodoo banshee for a graphics card and a socket A Thundrbird for a CPU.

ive tried all the fixes and its still like treacle and im actually getting ahead ache from trying to play..
 
Grrr I have been playin online fine since release, <40 ping, 100fps, only RARELY mini freezes, now all the UK servers are pinging 300ms for me. Damn you treyarch

I agree, it seems a lot of people are trying to play with mediocre rigs and just blaming it on the game being **** or whatever.

Do you think that Black Ops should run reasonably MP if I played MW1+MW2 1680x1050 maxed always without any issues but this game won't run at any playable pace at any resolution. It's just dead slow. Even with everything on low.

I only have C2D 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 8800GT.

You know BO MP looks no better than MW2 MP right?

i bet it cant even use more than 2 on the WAW engine...
 
Just had my first hour on it, Whacked all settings up full @ 1920x1200 only played multiplayer on 1 server and i've not noticed any lag and the whole thing runs smooth as silk.

After reading all the negative posts yesterday i was in two minds with to just send the game back to tesco. Glad i didn't while not in the same league as Bad Company 2 it's quite good, more of the same but that's OK.

Don't know why it runs ok for me, Just glad it does :)
