COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

Mine has definitely improved but I still get massive lag spikes. Next thing to try, disable sound and move COD back onto my SSD.
 
Going back to the PC shutting itself down... have you by chance overclocked and not done your stability testing fully? Really really common issue. If you OC and don't torture test it, one day this will probably happen. Sudden shutdowns suggect this (or failing hardware)... if it was just the game causing issues then you would get blue screens.
 
crash crash crash... that latest patch has brought me close to giving up now. boo hoo.

Mate of mine is sending me a quad core cpu to try out. After that i will give up.

Games no where near as good as its previous anyway.

Yes they should have given you the option of saving different designs, having several slots etc. Perhaps they could do that in a patch.

I personally don't have a problem with the knife in this game. It is the same for everyone and in my mind is a test of map knowledge/prediction and reaction.

At the end of the day if your 2 foot away from someone why are you shooting when you know a knife will insta kill.

Okay I accept it is not realistic to life but cod is far from a simulator.
 
I agree with the above. If your getting knifed, knife em back. I think Cupra spent a whole prestege knifing lol.
 
I wanted something with my clan tags on, took more doing than i first thought though as there are not that many letters available...

Maybe because you expect a shotgun to outclass some pos melee weapon? its bad enough when they have just the knife but when thay couple it with some of those fast move perks it becomes even more annoying, the ability to run straight past claymores and get cheap kills with the one hit wonder weapon is just utterly retarded.
 
This sound setup tweak below may help users suffering from stuttering/lag. I literally searched the internet in intent of solving my Black Ops stuttering issues. This is the closest ive came to, and you would not bilieve how simple it is.

Basically there is an issue with certain sound cards as well as onboard sound. Im running an X-Fi Fatal1ty as well as onboard for headphones when necessary.

This may work it may not.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices
Select the sound component which you use.
Properties > Advanced.
Now select 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)

Finally apply this.

Report back if there is any change of frames per second/ removal of stutter.
I think the issue is within how they have implemented the sound configuration in Black Ops.

Seriously it has the Nazi flag and symbols and pictures of real life Nazis all over the page. How can they be so openly advocating the Nazis?

Also remember: There's an 18 sticker on the front of the Black Ops box for a reason. It contains content unsuitable for minors or people who are offended easily.

without trying cause offence but your argument is rather flawed. just because another game has Nazi's or you can play as Nazi, does really mean someone should not take offence to someone using swastika as Tag in this game. I can understand your argument there, but logic is flawed. If I went out and bought some sugar, and one brand of sugar has Nazi symbol on it, with your argument this means I should not buy product with Sugar in it. I might go out my way to avoid any product that uses that specific brand of sugar in it, but I would not stop using sugar.

Your second point again has not got any logic it. other than sort "Daily Mail Logic" wow don't look at this link because It has pictures of Nazi symbols in it. I think rather than being sensationalist about it, common sense can be applied here. In the Wiki page its being used a reference and for educational purposes. I cant see any reason for having Swastika as your Tag on BO other than to be trying to be offensive. I think really its about context here, if you have Swastika in book to teach about what happened during Nazi party's rule in Germany most people would not get offended. If you have a picture of Swastika on front page of leaflet for BNP, most people would get offended. this would be context

I agree with what your saying about Real world and On-line world in some respects, but they both have one thing in common, People! and if someone gets upset by something in real life, then they are still going get upset about it Online as well. yes there are differences in some ways, but year by year, Online and RL are slowly starting to become a lot more closely linked.

I would say that if the Admin who Bans someone for using what they deem to be offensive Symbol then they are perfectly within there rights to do so if they deem it be offensive which clearly they do. I would ask wonder what OC Admin would do if you Had Swastika as your Sig on this forum?

No noticeable change to stutter - just as bad - but it did seem to boost fps by ~10% on my USB Dolby Headphone device (not sure why) but no change when trying it with my Creative X-Fi.

I should mention that i am on a E6750 @ 3.68ghz so it may be more efficent for dual core users. Im using the p5n-e sli motherboard (650i chipset)
 
Seeing a lot of people cheating :( even if they fix the stutter its looking like it won't be much fun to play with all the hacking.
 
Try beer goggles and some ear plugs, I hear that helps with stutter also

Seriously im gonna try it blind folded too, the amount of tweaks rumored to fix this is a joke,its the game that's screwed not a system setting
