Doesn't steam compress the download? The recommended specs for the game state a requirement of 12GB hard drive space.

Just realised you are presumably referring to the Steam ad which says '10.11.9' - for some reason they have put the date back to front - 10 is the year, not the day

I'm not so sure it does compress them TBH, I mean once a game downloads it is ready to play (apart from the typical directx / C++ runtime installation stuff).

If MW2 is 50% bigger it makes me wonder if there is somehow less content overall in Black Ops.

Could they have been given a remit to make sure it fits on a single dual layer DVD this time, unlike MW2 which was on two DVDs?!

That's weird, I thought Steam takes care of all that stuff for you - so it's saying that unless you manually locate and delete certain files, you will have 16 gigs of unnecessary files left over afterwards?!

Maybe the graphics will look rubbish with low res textures etc, and they have added more gameplay gimmicks?. Maybe the sp is a couple of hours long on a few missions?. I saw some sp gameplay footage and it looked rather pants imho.

I hope the campaign is as good as it was in Modern Warfare 2, but I don't think it will be.

my guess is the sp /mp maps will be les varied and mroe textures/models reused in each rather than unique ones.
