COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

-Camouflages are not enabled.
-The field of view is 90.
-All maps have ambient particles and smoke removed. NOT COMPLETED.
-Fog has been further reduced throughout the game.
-The games desuration has been removed, resulting in more colour.
-Walls now contain less detail, improving FPS and visibility NOT COMPLETED
-Player 'bob' has been removed when sprinting, e.g
-Dynamic lighting has been disabled NOT COMPLETED
-Shadows have been disabled

Why not play a different game if this is required to make it how they want it?

There's nothing 'pro' about playing the game like this just because it's called 'promod'.

I was just checking as i wasn't sure Black Ops had the option for mods, the attitude lately in FPS threads is ridiculous.
 
its not beeen finisihed yet it will be a user made mod and is in other games very good as it takes the games basics and users only that with no frills.

if you want your perks like claymores nooblaunchers and so on play normal but this is a extra choice for those that want the basics without the noobery.

a lot of people will play this just for this alone. most league or ladders or comps will use it. it aint a two bob load of crap its big news.
 
Sorry for not reading the 170 pages prior to this.. But is the PC ver fixed yet? Or am i better off going with 360 ver? I'm going to treat myself to this for Christmas..

It doesn't right now mate, still waiting for the devs to release the mod tools!

The mod will only work on a server running it, so you will still have your public vanillas, but I would suggest giving it a try once released. You will realise it's a whole different ball game.

If you actually want to get good, play promod.

In my experience:

average vanilla cod player < skilled vanilla player (usually top ranked in sever etc) < occasional/casual promod player

If cod:bo is nice with promod, I'll buy it. Having too much fun playing cod4 promodlive right now to even consider otherwise ;)
 
I hate "pro" mods with a passion, most completely ruin the game(s). Compare and contrast OSP with CPMA on quake 3. One enhances the game for competitive play while still retaining the spirit of the original game (OSP) the other tries to change the core gameplay and add silly "pro" gimmicks.

Thats besides the point. When you use a bolt/pump action weapon to kill a player and the ****tard is using last stand you can't fire the next shot before they empty a no recoil pistol clip at you. Or when you shoot them behind cover and you can't see them to finish them off.
 
Why even buy the new CoD if you intend to strip it back to the basics? Just go play CoD 4. It looks pretty much the same and the maps are better. It also didn't cost £40 for what would essentially be a glorified map pack.
