COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

Has this game been fixed? I haven't played in like 2 months due to game running like a dog on my machine but today I upgraded cpu to an old QX6850 and still have 8800GT and the games seem to run just fine, no lag or anything.

I need to check how BC2 runs, next week I'm upgrading to GTX460 so all games should run just fine :)
 
Bought this game, it comes tomorrow. I just hope it's not a waste of money with all these comments about it being buggy/glitchy/laggy.

Is it really that bad or does the latest patch fix things? I'm running a fairly decent setup (i5 2500k @ 4ghz, GTX 460, 4Gb 1600 RAM, 24 inch HD monitor etc).
 
Latest patch has sort of fixed many of the main issues for me, aside from rubbish spawns in many game modes but I still find it starts getting choppy after 4-5 maps and by the 6th map I have to restart or sound starts getting stuttery.
 
Well that's good to know the new patch sorts things out, hopefully they keep bringing out patches to make the game better. Fairly excited to play it! I'm going to order Modern Warfare 1 aswell since that's my all time favourite FPS game.
 
I still think MW2 is the better gameplay experience - if they just added a couple of the better ideas from Black Ops (hackable equipment, etc.) and dedicated servers/proper server lobby system it would blow Black Ops out the water.

Exactly how I feel too for both MP and SP. In MW2 the guns looked good and they each had their own individual characteristics. If the game had larger maps, dedicated servers, was stable online and got rid of the G18 it would be awesome!

your pc will destroy it.

I upgraded to a similar rig from a q6600 and its disturbingly better.
 
Agree with some other sentiment here, MW2 with dedicated servers would be better than bops. I find the maps on MW2 just feel more iconic (not sure if thats the word i want)!!

Also the latest patch has stopped the regular crashes i was having.
 
Its not just that weapons in MW2/COD4 had a good degree of distinction and some tactile feel to them... Black Ops its like 3 different weapons with a bunch of different skins and the sensation of firing them is more like airsoft than a real firearm.

I prefer to call it CoD4...

After all isn't that basically MW2 with dedicated servers and some of the better ideas from BO? (like removing Martyrdom and no Commando).
