COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

Guy over on Steam forums suggested this and it works 100%. I can now have Shadows enabled with absolutely no lag!

Enable Vsync

Either in console or via config file:

/com_maxfps 58

/cl_maxpackets 59

It's then up to your hardware as to how high the settings can go. I can have all settings max

This actually works in COD4 and 5 too.

To test, try it in console on splash screen. If you set fps at anything over 58, you can detect a wee bit mouse lag, set to 58 and it's gone!

For me, ping is 38ms with maxpackets at 100, 35ms with maxpackets at 59. Epic

All this does is mask the issues inside a rigidly set frame of lag, might work for some people but personally I find the mouse lag horrid (and no setting fps to 58 doesn't make it go away for me). Great if your not overly sensitive to input lag tho.

I still seem to be chasing a sweet spot with settings for multiplayer, can't figure why AFTER 2-3 maps I get really bad fps stuttering. Fine for the first few!

I hope the patch fixes the constant crashing - I still get freezing and errors and only had around 20 minutes online since Christmas.

haha you dont like my video i take it

with the way they treated the community in a whole i think they can stand it.

as for my forums do you know why that is :rolleyes:

its cause i only let friends post on there and only allow people i know . all rest of the others who register i delete

as i want it for the people i know who game with me thats it . you would know that if you didnt jump to conclusions.

amount of people registered last month over a thousand. how many have a let through 40

so go waste your tenner on a map pack that wont be on servers so you wont be able to play it lol.

who is going to put it on there server ? if ninety percent dont buy it as soon as that map comes on there server empties ! genius ! so a month later game will now be dead and buried. if they would have given it for free then the game would have boosted and not died . all for the love of money.

Think i will stick with homefront. Might not be as polished as BLOPS but the multiplayer is much more fun and bigger maps is bliss.

the game is actually playable for me now i got a second hand q6600, was impossible to play on my old dual core, seems fun for quick blasts but still riddled with problems, the most annoying one for me is no matter what server i choose the game type is not what is listed in the server browser ever, everytime i try to get on a TDM server it randomly goes on a search and destroy one :mad:

But hey its playable now and doesnt look too bad at max settings, not bad for quick half hour play sessions.
