Guy over on Steam forums suggested this and it works 100%. I can now have Shadows enabled with absolutely no lag!
Enable Vsync
Either in console or via config file:
/com_maxfps 58
/cl_maxpackets 59
It's then up to your hardware as to how high the settings can go. I can have all settings max
This actually works in COD4 and 5 too.
To test, try it in console on splash screen. If you set fps at anything over 58, you can detect a wee bit mouse lag, set to 58 and it's gone!
For me, ping is 38ms with maxpackets at 100, 35ms with maxpackets at 59. Epic
