COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

funny i can run it with shadows fine and my spec isnt exactly great, my cpu usage however is at 100% on all 4 cores, funny how a game that looks this bad and is a simple shooter that shouldnt require any intensive cpu use, uses all 4 cores at 100% :p

Any 1 play on TFU server at all?

Forgot we had it running, its stupidly busy!

Im on there a couple times a day for a quick blast, before leaving in dismay at being the one and only person not hiding in a corner in the house aiming straight at a door and waiting for someone to walk by, once again (every server btw not just that one). Everyone has become very lazy, easy one handed kills whilst eating hamburgers is the choice tactic now it seems.

the game is actually playable for me now i got a second hand q6600, was impossible to play on my old dual core, seems fun for quick blasts but still riddled with problems, the most annoying one for me is no matter what server i choose the game type is not what is listed in the server browser ever, everytime i try to get on a TDM server it randomly goes on a search and destroy one

But hey its playable now and doesnt look too bad at max settings, not bad for quick half hour play sessions.

I had a similar experience. Used to be unplayable with by 3.2ghz dual core. Also brought a second hand Q6600 and it's poerfectly fine now. Unfortunately, the game just constantly winds me up now so in a way wish I'd never bothered.

I can't believe what they're charging for 4 maps!! I might just choose another entire new game to start playing alongside the basic Black Ops as It'll be better value for money when looking at Price-Content ratio....

Also the game worked perfectly for me on release - then they started patching and I couldn't play it at all (kept freezing/kicking me out of games).
The last Steam update (not even BO Patch) eventually fixed it for me not long ago.

So I'm really worried that the new patch will kill it for me again!!

Game of the year hmmm maybe not yet i mean duke nukem is still to come out.

IT's only march as well, don't know how they can say game of the year when it's not even half way through with it.

Fair enough, but it's still not GOTY, Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, ToR [possibly], Duke Nukem and many more brilliant titles are yet to appear that will wipe the floor with CoD: BO, and as said, it's only basically the begining of the year still.

Indeed it is a bit of a joke that it won that award (I believe it was the only one or one of few that was voted by the public rather than a judging panel). What was even finnier though is that it was even nominated for best story catigory.... Its a very average game from the graphics to the story to the gameplay. Sales figures obviously make people think its the 'bestest' or people really are that stupid.

Its ok in short blasts, the only reason I still play it at all is waiting on something else to come out (i.e. crysis 2 in a couple days).

I'm amazed this got GOTY, the PS3 version was a mess and still is to some extent. The PC version was bugged to high heaven. And in addition to this, it isn't actually that good a game. Then again, that being said, the whole range of COD games has been selling off the name since COD4 in my opinion.
