COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

I have often considered going back to COD4....Especially if there is a large uptake of the map pack on the BO servers, don't fancy getting kicked every other map 'cause I have not stumped up the money....

As for BFBC2, that also got booted up for the first time for a good few months the other day...

I've gone back to CoD 4. It's okay - much better than BO but I really miss a lot of MW2. Just can't play their awful MP any more.

The sad thing is, with my new rig Black Ops plays so smooth. On default settings at 1920 X 1200 I get min 102FPS with an average of around 150. My whole clan however has moved back to MW2 S&D as the S&D on BFLOPS is rubbish.

I don't understand why this game did as well as it did? Was it hype, lack of competition? The sad fact is that I'll probably buy the next COD when it comes out. Oh well's ...

Me, and the people that I play with, bought it because we THOUGHT that it'd be MW1 with the good bits from MW2 on dedicated servers which would've been epic. What it turned out to be was W@W with added suck, which isn't quite so epic.

It was always going to sell a buttload of copies, just like MW3 (or whatever they're churning out) will this Christmas tbh. Thank Bobby Kotick.

The game did well because the developers show us a teaser clip of a game, and we do all the marketing for them by hyping it up and everyone get's drawn into playing the game. It's also practically religious for consoles.

As Hzza said, really. A lot of people (me included) hoped BO would be MW2 but with dedicated servers and no akimbo.

I'm debating whether to get the DLC maps. Poor maps is one of the reasons I stopped playing Black Ops - are the four new ones of a better standard?

I bought both MW2 map packs and was pleased with them, the maps are very high quality but then again that is IW and not Treyarch.

Did anybody buy DLC? I did but haven't played yet, just got new heating in yesterday so hoose was like a tip

Reading that the new patch introduced more (new and undiscovered) problems than it fixed? Lol, at least Treyarch are consistent

I did consider getting the dlc, the stadium map looks pretty good. I reinstalled TF2 though and it really reminded me what its like to play a fun game. Black Ops is solid enough and I dont have any performance issues but I just dont really get much fun out of it.

All four are better than the original maps in my opinion, they were apparently developed by Raven and not by Treyarch.

Played 3 of them once now, Berlin Wall and the Discovery, for me anyway, produce massive fps drops a la Havana main street style in certain points of the maps.

Unfortunatly Black Ops has ruined MW2 for me

theres things I miss now like being able to hack claymores... for all its faults MW2 was very satisfying to play when you got past the crappy matchmaking/player hosted crappiness and lobby and finally into a decent hosted game without hackers/too many people abusing the lamer perks.

the rest of the game runs at 110fps constant

i agree 100% the new maps are better than most of the stock maps

this is also a good sign for MW3 as i hear Raven are doing the MP for that

Sounds on par for Black Ops :eek:

Gamers need to prove a point and not pre-order the next CoD game (and not buy it on the first week until reviews say it's decent) or they will keep churning out this *****.

I agree about MW2: it would be one of the greatest MP FPS games for me if the lobbies were stable (and you got rid of akimbo)! I had Fall camo on about 4 weapons - I really miss it

I was tempted by the DLC so went back to this and did a couple of hours this weekend and it reminded me just how imbalanced some of the weapons are, specifically the FAMAS and the AK74. If Treyarch sort that, add in recoil on the weapons with a high fire rate and let you change kit between maps/rounds I'd consider getting the new maps, but as it stands I'm going to avoid.

Balistic knifing drop-shooters is still great fun though.

I am going to pass on the DLC, the best thing about PC gaming was free map packs with patch's now they just treat us like console tards, PC gaming has become too main stream its ruining the beauty of owning exclusive games etc.

I am annoyed that now if I want to play BOP's that in one or two maps time I get kicked cos I don't own the DLC, thats like F U we don't care about all the non DLC players don't have the DLC, don't play. Sucks Balls!

So I have gone back to COD4 the last true PC COD.
