CODWWII

yeah, there was a surprising number of guns that bf1 would have you beleive were common issue yet very few existed. and ironically despite it being packed full of developmental semi auto rifles that never would have seen frontline combat they missed out the one and only self loading infantry rifle that actually was fielded in decent numbers.

and dont get me started on the body armour which they'd have you beleive is proof against basically any weapon at any range.

now i get why they did it- a realistic portrayal of ww1 would have been better titled "stand in a trench for 3 weeks before going over the top and getting mowed down in 30s by a machine gun simulator 2016"

which gun is that?:)

The rsc 1917, if your interested in that sort of thing theres a chap on youtube runs a good channel called forgotten weapons where he runs through the details of this sort of thing, shows you how stuff works etc

A lot of stuff you see like the mauser selbstlader was made, but very small numbers and mainly fitted for aircraft use due to the operating mechanism being dodgy at the best of times when it was clean, certainly not regular infantry use on the scale bf1 portrays.

I bet EA/DICE are kicking themselves for not going with WW II theme now, especially when they look at the dwindling player base of their game :p :D

BF1 shouldn't have been WW1, I was disappointed from the reveal onwards. People just don't relate to WW1 like they do WW2 and this didn't help BF last time round.

COD WW2 looks good, looking forward to seeing some proper MP footage first though.

Steam prices currently £45 for the standard version and £80 for the deluxe...ouch! Hopefully some keysites can knock a few quid off nearer to launch.
