Has anyone been able to pour latte art with an Aerochino? I've tried about 20 times over the last month with different amounts of milk and techniques, for it to never, EVER work. There is a youtube video of a guy that manages it with an Aerochino. He tips the frothed milk out into a jug, swirls it, taps it etc, then pours it straight in with a nice flower pattern.

Got a Krups Inissia on it's way to me! It was only £49.99 on amazon and £70+ everywhere else so I went for it! It's now gone up too £74.99 on amazon as well. Bargain! :)

It's very difficult to do with an areocinno as you have no control. You hit the button and the machine does the rest. You need a steam wand to have any consistent success at doing it. The milk needs to be textured and not frothy for latte art. While the chap on YouTube may have managed it I'm going to assume there were about 10 failed attempts beforehand. However even if you have the milk perfect you then need to master how to create latte art eg angles, swirling, control - so it's combo of two things coming together

you can set either to pour any amount

the capsules however are designed to be poured with a very specific amount though. I believe there is discussion of exact amount of pour on a specialist forum where people recommend x amount for more premium capsules like the colonna ones.

I find the higher intensity capsules are fine with 2x standard espresso press which should work out at 80ml. A single Lungo press is 110ml

I find the ones 9+ are ok for a double espresso press. Lungo capsules I would just go with a single lungo press

Fair enough. I'm not a coffee expert or anything quite near that. The "experts" on the forums say there simply isn't enough coffee in a capsule to double shot them and the second usually tastes foul. I probably wouldn't know the difference anyway but I am finding my taste adjusting to it the more I have. I limit myself to 1 a day and just the 1 shot.

Your mileage may vary but as a test why don't you pour 1 shot into 1 glass and add half the milk then the second shot into another glass and add the other half of the milk. See the difference for yourself and see if you can notice a difference.

You can definitely notice the difference with the second shot. It's noticeably weaker coming out of the machine so the second shot on its own is likely to taste pretty rough. I usually press the espresso button again and then manually stop it as soon as I see it pouring much weaker, so equivalent of about 1 and a half shots.

Not entirely sure why I bother as I honestly can't taste any difference between just the 1 or the 1.5 shot for the coffees I drink. I guess it's just to get a bit more to drink in the cup, that 20ml makes all the difference ;)

Yeah the second press is noticeably weaker. I wouldn't have it as a separate drink but 2 in 1 seem fine to me

I just ordered some capsules from Gourmesso.

They also do Tea Capsules. I ordered 2 x Mint and 1 x green as I wanted ones you drink without milk. I liked Mint tea in marrakech so hopefully its the same thing.

I ordered all the flavoured ones from Gourmesso for the wife.
