hmm strange hey! thats like buying a car and phoning the car delear up and asking them to put an engine in it!

No, it's more like phoning up a car dealer and asking for a bigger engine. Anyway the cpu is more like an engine and the hard drive is more like the fuel tank..... sorry :p

Hahaha, Nice analogy lol.
Any idea if OCUK will stock faster processors, mainly the X9100 for the Ultima Mobile?

what I am surprised about is the amount of people saying they wanted one and the amount of reviews we have! there seems to be no correlation between them!!

When I look on the ordering page we only have like 1 or 2 reviews???? are these laptops no good ?

I should be ordering mine this week. I'll do a full review eventually. lol

Hi All,

Sorry for the lack of updates in the thread. Unfortunately we've had problems actually getting the units to the UK. UPS had held up the shipment in Germany for 3 days due to lack of space on the plane  until they eventually decided to deliver it to the wrong UK airport so it's had to be transported by road to Heathrow for Customs clearance.

The good news is the goods are now currently at Heathrow Airport being processed for a next day delivery tomorrow. The slackers at HMRC have cleared the shipment so it's all good.

Unfortunately the prices have increased slightly due to the declining dollar rate compared to when we last purchased some of the components. The P9500 CPU for example has cost us £19 more to buy than our previous buy. We will also have a lower end Core 2 Duo option available in the next few minutes.

500GB drives are now available as an option too.

It's possible for us to look at but the cost since the change in $ rate is massive. It's around £100 more than it would have been.

Thanks for the update slackworth, any idea when we will be receiving our laptops then?
I'm assuming there's a large backlog of orders, just want to know what day I should expect the delivery, or would that information be e-mailed to me?
Thanks :)

That wouldn't be the best thing, "safety first" :)

Too true.

Going to take a short while to get all these checked and booked in when they arrive with us to make sure the specifications on the barebones are all spot on.

We have bucket loads to be built and our technical team have been prepping today to have the capacity to get onto the laptops once they arrive.

We are ready to go once the courrier chain is completed, we will ship them as soon as we are happy to do. If you know OcUK you will know we don't drag our feet. :p

That's great, it's my first time dealing with OCUK, and I just want peace of mind to know that my laptop is built safely and not rushed to get the orders out. I'm sure everyone would agree that none of us would be too happy if we had to send any of them back.
But good luck...sounds like you guys have quite a few busy days ahead of you ;)

Worth waiting for

Guys I have one of these, was one of the lucky ones from first batch. They are a cracking machine. You really won’t be disappointed...:D

Damn got beaten to it, me and Slackers have booked these in ourselves and it seems that everything has arrived as it should!

Good news so far, the components are now sat awaiting builders in our system build department! :D

We are doing this STRICTLY on a first ordered first built basis and if all goes well the first units should ship late tonight / tommorrow.

Also on the delivery there are these little babies:

They look stunning in the flesh and I will get one built up today and do a little review, the office's collective jaw dropped when we got one out to have a look at.
