I received mine too today, thanks OCUK, I'm having problems activating wireless too, Fn +F11 doesn't work for me, the wireless indicator doesn't turn on. The F11 key isn't broke and neither if the Fn key. All of the drivers i THINK are alreay pre-installed, but i'm quite new to setting up a lappy myself so i'm not too sure. When I do try to install the wireless lan driver it says that device is not found.

If you have NumLock on, try turning it off, and pressing Fn + F11.

just out of curiosity, whats the battery life on these custom laptops, i'd assume with the high end graphics cards for these baby's the battery life would be pretty weak. :(

Apparently, it's around 2 hours for the Ultima Mobile. Max I reckon you could get is about 2 and a half hours. Then again, they aren't really made for portability / battery life.

The NumLock thing doesnt help, having looked at the Device Manager, I can't see any sign that it had detected a WLAN adaptor, so i'm going to send one of those webNote things, hopefully I'm just being silly and I won't have to send it back. *fingers crossed*

Same problems here unfortunately. Looks like there's no wireless adaptor. Haven't had much time to check it out though yet. Will be well annoyed if this has to go back.

This problem isn't uncommon I'm afraid.
I have heard numerous complaints about it on NBRforums.

If you have the Drivers CD handy, try installing those drivers (under the optional menu on the CD)

I've sent them a webNote, my first ever one...not too sure whether it got sent properly lol, do you know if the wireless adaptor is simply plug it in and it'll be fine? because could there be a possibility that they just send them along to us and we pop them in ourselves, or is it just not as easy as that?

I've tried that, I get a prompt telling me to turn wireless on, however I can't as Fn + F11 doesn't work. :(

Thanks for trying to help shadows, but I tried that too, I bought mine with Vista ultimate 64bit. All of the basic drivers were installed, and I only installed the optional fingerprint driver.

Wouldnt it be best first to check that Device Manager has picked it up correctly?

Also most laptops Ive used with a key combo to toggle Wifi also had an app to toggle it. Double check the system tray as theres a good chance you can do it via that. I know Intel software has that option...

ps3ud0

Still no luck, the only thing detcted under network adaptors is Realtek RTL8168............
but that's for LAN. Guess I just have to sit tight and wait for a reply, do you know if they answer web-notes during out of opening times?
Thanks

Yup, exactly same here. It's either a major ****-up by the supplier or we are doing something fundamentally wrong. I'm going to have a tinker in an hour or so - perhaps try searching for new hardware/trying the drivers of the Clevo site. But to be honest, from the 5mins I've spent looking at it, it seems like there is no wireless hardware :(

Let me know if you find anythign out. Not sure how long the web notes take

Also check your BIOS, it lists your WAN and Bluetooth with the ability to switch them on and off.
It sounds to me like they havent been installed.

Thanks for the heads up - no wireless adaptor in the BIOS either.

Edit>

Just called OcUK and it seems like there were 10 laptops that were not fitted with wireless cards. Looks like mine and Noodleking's were two of them :(

They are trying to book a collection in with City Link but their system is down

Hopefully if it gets booked in today I'll get it back tomorrow.

Seems like OcUk DID rush them out then =/

Cant they just send you the wireless card? It is so easy to fit! remove the bottom plate, plug it in and plug in the wires! simple. I could even send photos of mine to assist.

I think that would be so much better ninja, I heard that these laptops aren't too hard to mod and I wouldn't mind giving it a go with instructions, but of course I don't want to void warranty at the same time.

According to other owners on NBRForums, it is true that it's VERY easy to install the Wireless Card.
(Right next to the RAM, apparently).
