Ive just got the system in my sig. used all the drivers that came supplied on the CD, but ive used the latest nvidia drivers with a modified inf file.

On 3dmark06 i get just shy of 9000

with gaming i notice i get less FPS when ive got my drive running in ahci mode. presuming its a driver issue, even though i tried the latest drivers, so ive just kept it on IDE mode

Thank you OCUK! It may have taken nearly two & half months to get my custom laptop from you, but now I have had it for 3 days the waiting time seems irrelevant now. I ordered the Primo and even though my original order ended up changing slightly due unavailable CPU and delayed barebones, I now have a better machine. They may not be the prettiest laptops (not fancy colours or ultra modern design), but they feel well built and solid, with some nice features for the price (well mine does at least). My non-technical review? not the fastest order in the world, but a lovely laptop well worth the money, fast, quiet, and works very well indeed.

A rather happy OCUK custom built primo pro mobile owner.

I understand, however OC should be updating there disc to reflect updates. no point have burned 1000's of disc when in 1 month time all the drivers are out of date.

The driver disc comes from the chassis supplier (Clevo) and not OcUK, it being 'out of date' is no different than the discs from any other hardware supplier. You can of course download updated drivers from the Clevo website but like most laptop manufacturers updates are rare and it is normally easier to source them yourself.

ok now we have dealt with that issue, good! lets gets some decent reviews with pictures

WORD OF WARNING: Just got my phone bill and nearly had a heart attack. The OCuk phone line is NOT the cheapest! All those calls to see if the laptops had come in to stock, then the four or five calls to sort out the 6% discount that they hadn't taken off my card all added up to nearly £25

Ok, completely my fault , should have checked the price of the calls beforehand, but a warning to others none the less.

I called them from my Vodafone contract phone yesterday and just checked my bill. 2 Mins 28 Seconds and it only cost €0.31. Nothing wrong with that!

Wait until you've been on for over 15 mins in the week! I'm sure it ramps up exponentially as well ;) Either that or I'm getting robbed by O2  It's almost free at the weekend...

Any update on a review as yet?

I'm thinking about ordering one of these tonight when i get in, are build times still a lightning quick couple of days? The reason i ask is because ideally i would need it by a week Thursday at the latest.

Thanks for any info guys

I don't really have the ability to write a comprehensive review, at least not with the kind of time I have on my hands just now, so I'll jot down a couple bullet points of what I'm thinking, almost 2 weeks in to my ultima adventure...

Looks: quite simple, but certainly not bad looking. Loving the aluminium! However, it certainly doesn't look like it's an expensive speed machine.

Weight: as it's not exactly the slimest of machines it does of course carry a bit of weight but no more than your average machine and considering what it's holding I found this very impressive.

Speeeeed: It's fast. Running on Windows Vista Ultimate x64, everything is pretty much on demand. As much as I'd love to give you 3dmax figures etc, I won't, because I'm not that kind. Also, I don't know how.
I have been playing Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 on the stock settings flawlessly, and then hooked it up to my 32" tv, running on 1920x1080 and fairly high settings I only got the occasional bout of graphical slowdown but I forgave it for it sheer beauty. (Again, no FPS numbers...)

Considering the amount of heat this thing churns out it's also surprisingly quiet (it also comes with a lovely "silent mode" button which clocks the graphics down a bit and turns off the fan - great for the non-gaming moments :) )

Extra bonus category - Ease of fitting a wireless adaptor :p : with the correct screwdriver, very easy :)

General Happyness Score: 4.9/5 (just to be akward)

I've pretty much ran out of opinions as far as I'm aware, but if anyone has anything specific they want I guess I can try & answer :)

I take it these numbers are wrong?

what is battery life like on these, do they work with fedora/ubuntu[debian]?

have been looking at getting another netbook after ditching eee701 but might just get proper laptop if the battery life is half decent. Not to bother about gaming power I jaust want to surf and a sql/web work on it.
thx

oh some pics be nice of the different models please.
