Well this is an interesting development..nice customisable options for laptops. will probably be looking for a replacement for my 1710 around xmas :)

what sort of memory is it? DDR3 1066mhz? (doesnt actually say on the product overview) i guess its based on clevo chassis M570TU ?

i guess you'll be stocking aftermarket upgrades for these laptops as well? bluray drives? graphics cards?
 
Im seriously thinking of gettting a Ultima Extreme Mobile - 17.0" WSXGA Laptop. Really want a desktop replacement and this seems to be it.

A few questions . . .

Will we be able to upgrade the gfx card (and other components) in the future for these laptops?

Will you be selling the batteres separate as well?

Why is it that the 9800M GTX is the 512mb version and not the 1GB?
 
EDIT - I have just noticed the 9800gts is listed as 256mb! Are you sure that is correct? I have not seen a mention anywhere of a 256mb version, everyone else is selling 512/1024 versions.[/QUOTE]

The graphics card is an MXM unit so can be upgraded at your own risk along with the HDD, Optical and Memory.

We will probably look at getting extra batteries in the near future.

The information I have tells me they are 512MB but I will get this confirmed.

OH and is it possible to change my pre-order? I am thinking about taking the 4gb upgrade if thats something you are able to do?

Just had comfirmation that it is a 1GB unit and I have updated the specifications accordingly.

ETA might be pushed back a couple of days at maximum but we're looking pretty good.

4GB upgrade should be no problem at all. Give one of the sales team a call and they will sort you out. If you get any problems just reference my name (Adam) and there should be no probs.

OCZ SSD drives?
Do you have a guess on how long the battery will last on each model yet?
 
We will have more of an idea once we get the stock. On the higher end models, we expect approx. 2 hours with a normal drive so the SSD should help.
