Competitors - a clarification

I think it's worth bringing up two other forum members that were banned/suspended in this riot.

sldsmkd got permabanned for creating a Forum that would have no rules regarding mentioning of the competitors in the PC Gaming subforum.

And Wynthorpe came out with a Nazi comment in the heat of discussion (he only got suspended which seems reasonable).

Why are the members paying for their mistakes (?) when the Dons are clearly above the law?

Can we get these two unbanned plz ASAP. Seems Tele u have a little more of the Valki boys mess to clean up

EDIT - Sorted in post above and ty for that. Where the eck where you last night Tele ?

Nobody but Spie would make that decision and for my part one I don't think he would share your opinion on.

It is his company so he can do anything he likes.

HOWEVER, money talks and 10% IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF REVENUE despite what other Dons may think.

I would think it is in Spies financial interests to address this accordingly to the damage which has been caused.

But the people in the PC gaming sub-forum doesn't equate to 10% of revenue

I think you're getting a bit carried away with things if you think this 'altercation' is likely to come anywhere near everyone on the forum stopping buying from OcUK.

I was also totally unaware that Amazon had a digital download service until yesterday aswell. :D

Missed those two, also ubanned now.

And thank you for that.

I didn't realise you did :)

I don't want anybody's respect, just some peace and quiet.

You shall have it but I think it's still the time and place to discuss the OcUK's PC Games range and the new rules before they settle in and people start to fade away from this Forum.

@Jono8

Same mate, wouldn't have any idea they started a new DD service until yesterday.

I dont, but as the 10% is the magic number at the moment, made sense to use it as we have no other figures to go on.

My point was is that if only 1% purchased elsewhere, it is still money out of Spies pockets and into someone elses and the way it was explained last night was they dont care about our custom.

That plain sucks, especially when they have hard working staff who provide EXCELLENT service. 5UB being one of them.

apparently the forums help generate 10% of your sales, so that means ~90% of your PC/console game sales, which you cannot possibly argue is a core part of your business, will be completely unaffected by any mention of any deals in this forum.
also, if someone has the ability to find this forum then they are more than capable of findng out where the best deal is for whatever game they are looking for, which will not be OcUK, EVER.

however, advertising deals that OcUK has no hope of competing with, such as the steam sales, will make pretty much all of the forum members buy a game or two they werent planning on getting, or were on the fence about getting, at some point. so far this has happened to me for three games and ive only been a member for 4 months.
more people getting games they werent otherwise going to get will mean more people wanting to upgrade their computer so they can play the game at decent settings. they will then buy lots of products from the people with the best deals, which is almost certainly going to be you guys OcUK.

so, what would you rather:
a) a very angry OcUK community and lower sales on your core business so you can sell a copy of modern warfare 3 and battlefield 3 to John's mum as a present for her son who noticed the advert when john was on the forums

or

b) a happy OcUK community, some more sales on high end core components because people want to max out battlefield 3, but having a couple of copies of battlefield 3 and modern warfare 3 gathering dust on the shelf?

i think i know what i'd prefer
