hmm, seems like a complete PR **** up to me,

why not just make OCuk game prices more competitive or sell something else.

I think generating an interest in PC gaming, which pointing out bargains does, can only help OCuk sell hardware, seems a very odd approach to me.

too manyrules ends up spoiling things in the end,

What happens when steam run a big sale? Blank out the one game OcUK sells and then everyone will see it anyway when they check Steam :p

i would really love to know, who actually decided on this rule, as telescopi said Spie is away, and nearly everyone is saying something different, is there an official rule? or is it just some random confused words that have gotten even more confused over time? lol

well technically we want him sacked cause he gets rubbish prices for us as customers.

if he got good prices we wouldn't care what he acted like as long as the products where cheaper here than anywhere else.
 
I think it's worth bringing up two other forum members that were banned/suspended in this riot.

sldsmkd got permabanned for creating a Forum that would have no rules regarding mentioning of the competitors in the PC Gaming subforum.

And Wynthorpe came out with a Nazi comment in the heat of discussion (he only got suspended which seems reasonable).

Why are the members paying for their mistakes (?) when the Dons are clearly above the law?
 
 
Thundys sticky on the DD service is gone so whats in here by Telescopi are the rules now as far as im concerned

^ ah Ace Modder, almost forgot he kicked it all of i bet he posted that and went to Ibiza for a fortnight, never seen him since :P

Hence talking about toasters from comet or beans from tesco is fine, but telling people about their laptop deals isn't really on (say what you like, they wouldn't let us post our deals in their store!).

To be clear, kindle fine, games we don't sell fine, hardware not cool, games we sell (yeah, all of them) not cool.

Exactly, why is OcUK no listening to their customers?

We can give you the exact pricing we would expect to be at least marginally competitive but you don't listen!
 
I'm not happy with what went on last night. I sat there at my computer desk thinking 'What a ridiculous bit of pettiness from OCuk'. I don't consider OCuk's main selling point as a games distributor and I will probably never bother looking at that side of things when shopping here. It was a massive PR balls up and it doesn't seem to have been sorted out at all by the organization. We need more clarification on what we can or cannot do, can we talk about Steam at all? Can we name smaller competitors?
