On my MSDN license of Windows 8 I couldn't select EN UK, had to be EN US.
My Store didn't mess up either like my Surface running EN UK.

According to Microsoft on their forums last night, Windows 8.1 is not available in the UK

so how are people getting it :confused:

I go through a fast US Proxy, installed the en-US language pack, changed my DNS servers, swapped my keybard and time settings. DISM'd the update, and it STILL says 'Try again later'

My language has always been EN US when I installed Windows so my Desktop works.

Do MS just hate the UK? This is a mess up.

Can anyone who has installed it tell me if the new button is optional or forced? I.E can you disable it if you don't want to take a step backward.

If your language has always been EN-US its because you set it wrong when you installed the O/S.

It's always been like this for most beta software, hell even the Technet RTM version of Server 2012 is locked to EN-US.

ISO's came down from MSDN just fine - still can't get my Surface RT to update though, just get the corrupted text.

just adding the EN-US language pack to my RT and see if that helps. Looks like the Store is getting hammered into the ground at the moment though

This is BS!! - Both my work laptop and sammy tablet have got US language version installed.

Whilst the RT-KB file downloads and installs ok, I get a notification on first boot that a Windows 8.1 preview is available but when in the app store I get nothing

I got further on my desktop PC at home last night lol - at least it was showing in the app store (and I could swear that's a UK version of Win8!!).

It is forced which is quite annoying as I am used to using the windows key on my keyboard now. I use it more for the right click power menu.

I just cannot get it on my work laptop which was an upgrade fro Windows 7 en-gb.

I think its not the language pack you are running but the actual base language when you install.

The action pack media only gives you the option of en-us until you get it installed then you add the English UK language pack.
