Nothing announced yet, rumours are August to October.

To answer my own question, yes it does keep everything if you use the store to update.

Thanks, clean install will probably reduce the risk of stuff being messed up anyway.

There's lots of known issues with gfx drivers.

This is a beta, don't expect it to be plain sailing, but more than likely beta drivers out in the coming days. mS has allready said they're working with amd/nvidia.

Just reinstalled the AMD drivers and all appears to be ok.

Now installing on my RT.
I didn't reinstall that file on the web page though, but the preview 8.1 download wasn't messed up anymore, so I figured I'd just leave it.



I'll download the ISO now, I'll probably use it like that until its official launch.

Won't install for me with the ISO, just goes to automatic repair and falls back to W8.

Thanks, had to search for "cleanmgr" on the start as I could not find Disk Cleaner on the Start or even in the tool tab on the disk properties in explorer.

Typing in disk, it's the third one down, titled "free up disk space by deleting use assert files"

Something move descriptive than just a short name.

Its not on my 8.1 Pro Surface.

Disk typed only gives the Defragmenter and Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions.

EDIT: Found you need to have view Administrative Tiles ticked.
