same question for me doesn't show in windows update will it come tomorrow?

thanks Glaucus this should be fun since the windows store for me in Belgium is French or Dutch but my original install is in English.

There is no 'previous windows installations' options in clear up disk space for me. :(

Can't manually delete the folder as its protected.
 
Is there a way to manually install 8.1, as apposed to upgrading via the App store. I've been holding off a complete OS re-install and thought I might as well clean boot to 8.1.

I wonder where the install files actually download too when upgrading via the app store
 
Won't appear in Store if you used a VL installation or KMS key/service to install & activate Windows 8

Just read that on Ms article, explains why it isn't showing for me ... ah well, will just have to wait a few months no doubt lol

Thats because you missed a step out. Re-read the instructions.you need to click the clean up system files button, bottom left. It'll then close and relaunch the disk cleaner app, which will then have the option in the list.

Just followed it twice and "old windows files" aren't there for me.
 
so i have clicked on windows store from their website, it brings up the windows 8.1 page with a button saying download, hit down load and it takes me back to the store front, not even sure if its doing anything.
How do i find out if it is downloading
 
The People app does not want to show online contacts now. It did prior to updating to 8.1 and showed when facebook friends were online. All it does not is show everyone and does not tell me whether they are online or off.

Stock HP drivers doesn't work.
Official 13.4 mobility drivers doesn't work.
Beta 10.4 drivers doesn't work.
Stock Win 8.1 are the only stable ones but only uses the Intel IGP.

Switchable graphics is dead on my laptop, everything I try I can't get the damn laptop to use the 7670M. CCC refuses to load in all instances as well saying it can't detect the GPU. Googling around it seems to be a common problem between AMD's switchable graphics and Win 8.1. I'll leave it for now and wait for either AMD or HP to release something compatible. At least gaming on the HD 4000 is not too bad...

Q: I keep getting an error when using DX11 on Win 8.1 RTM?
A: The dxgi.dll needs to be updated to support some DXGI changes that Win8.1 introduced. Future versions of the injector should have Win8.1 support. You can still use DX9 games with SweetFX under Win8.1, and some DX10/11 still work on Win8.1. RadeonPro also works.

your update wont come through the store as you already have windows 8.1.. same for me on my tablet.. there are a few updates that have been deployed through windows update not the store to bring it upto 8.1 release candidate
