eh? there is only one UK retailer with prices available??? no one knows how much they will be at retail.
Im sure OCUK are adding a nice amount on top of their usual price, given that they are the only E-tailor that have pre-orders up.

Ill be waiting personally, i wouldnt be at all suprised to see the 6600 drop by £30 or more at launch.

Yeah - I remember when the ABIT NF7s came out (I think it was that mobo anyway) and OcUK had it available to pre-order. Like a fool I did so, and the day it got delivered, the price on the website fell by £14 when all the other etailers had stock and turned out to be cheaper.

If you want to be the first, you pay a premium and some will argue that its worth it - personally I'd rather wait a week or two if I even have to.

Just had some batch 0606 GSkill HZs arrive on my doorstep this morning. Need to find a motherboard now. ;)

Looking forward to some benches from you guys who've picked up a chip already. :)

yes they need to be revision 2.0

revision 1 does not support conroe. the component layout is different from revision 2 + different caps etc..

Hi all
There lots of info around about the conroe but i've noticed that there aren't many dual 32m super pi results even though it's a dual core chip.
i was hoping that somebody might be so kind and compare a single run and a dual run of 32m super pi, at the same speed
say... default speeds or 3.0+
thanks in advance

Yes i still live in the stone age.
Last HDD I bought was the Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 250GB ATA-133 8MB Cache. Great drive.

I’m a little concerned by the number of PCI slots on these Conroe boards. I need three for my:
Sound Blaster Audigy II
802.11g WLAN
DigiTV

I only need one PCIe slot though...

Will there be decent boards with three PCI slots? If not I guess the Audigy will have to defer to the on-board sound which isn’t the end of the world but still not ideal.
