Cooking with Daveyboy - Live Crab

Was it just me?

That was one of the most hilarious things I have seen for quite some time.

Also, some of you have alarming opinions if you think holding a crab upside down is a shameful activity. I thought they were rather respectful actually.

Placing it alive in boiling water bothered me, other than that he could have performed sexual acts on it for all I care!

To kill and cook a crab humanely, plunge it into a pan of boiling water, bring it back to the boil and cook it for 10-12 minutes

I really have no idea what the complaints are about regarding the treatment of the crab, they were obviously concerned for it as well.

They put lobsters and the like alive in boiling water all the time, it's 'better' apparently.

I probably couldn't do it :p...Well I could, I just wouldn't want to.

When I did work experience at school, I worked in a restaurant and they would place a chefs knife into a plus marking on the lobsters neck and bring it down like a guillotine splitting the head in to!

Technically a Lobster has no brain, so is not alive as we know it, I don't see why people find it so cruel.....do you kill ants etc? Same thing.
