Core 9000 series

So how long until there is an AMD shortage and their prices rocket.

Considering how good our 2700X price is I’m confident in saying it won’t get cheaper and is far more likely to shoot up.

There may or may not be a shortage, but unless the UK has had a poor deal on distribution it doesnt explain why UK prices are higher than rest of EU and america (with tax taken into account) and that it was £550 at a retailer than pumped to £600 when they realised the market was pricing at £600. Sadly there is retail gouging going on here, which is a fully legal business practice but just be honest about it. :)

Retailers are probably price fixing considering the costs to import. Either way, doesn't really bother me, I just vote with my wallet. If people are happy paying these prices, that's up to them, but I think I'll look at AMD next year instead. I'd like to upgrade and was set to get the new intel, but I can wait.

Do you mean retailer costs to import or consumer’s?

They should, express international shipping cost me $5 more, saving £100. I have an 8700k which clocks to 5.3 so realistically will sell that and recoup most of the cost in all likelihood.

Get it while you can before trumps dumb decisions add about 25% to US prices next year.

Very tempted. I almost picked up a mobo and some RAM yesterday morning in preparation. It's just daft really. So many more people would have bit at about the 500 mark.

I just checked that Rainforest Global thingymajig and having never seen it before it seems pretty amazing. Does everything for you and as it is Them, I reckon there are no issues with returns.

Well you have to wonder when you can get it shipped from the USA for less than 500 with all taxes paid and UK retailers want 600.... I can't blame Intel for that only the retailers.

Well the 9900K can be pre ordered for Total cost of £501.78 which includes Import fees deposit. However it is 2-4 days delivery. Without import fees the cost is £404.69.

There is no need to buy from a UK retailer who presences is just the UK market.... Only a fool would overpay £100. 2-4 day wait is worth the saving...

Also import taxes is not guaranteed.

Just my experience of buying stuff from china and the like, I noticed I often dont have to pay it, I dont know if its because the seller is doing tricks or customs simply dont have the manpower to check every parcel.

People are saying the US not china.

under £500 for a Core i9-9900K with everything included.

Isnt import tax the same for every non EU country? (in how its policed)

I dont know how import taxation works, so I welcome to be educated.

Even with it paid tho, with it been £100 cheaper is really showing up our retailers.

There is also an argument for "market failure" and an investigation by the competition regulator, because competition in the market place is supposed to drag prices down, when you see a competitor rising prices to match the others, thats market failure at best, and cartel at worst.

It’s completely guaranteed from major retailers based on what they are shipping you not some Chinese cowboy on eBay ;)

fair enough. :)

I am guessing the chinese sellers are not declaring the parcel and "hoping" it doesnt get caught, a bit like the self employed declaring their earnings to the tax man.

averaged across the games they tested yeah, most games wont fully utilise a i9 chip.

Remember these are Intel canned results as well, 1080p on a 1080ti with Software setup and Optomised for Intel only, oh and the Ram is not even 3200mhz on any of the platforms, knowing full well how Ryzen scales with memory.

In other words, the results are pathetic and laughable at best.

More fuel for the fire I guess ...

Intel's New Low: Commissioning Misleading Core i9-9900K Benchmarks

Two things annoyed me after watching the first minute or so.

So the NDA date is 19 october. But of course they could buy the hardware and not be bound by a NDA.
So do their pockets come first or their viewers? Well given they mostly relying on free samples then their pockets.
But even more annoying is that hardware unboxed reveals he has no NDA and thinks its a good thing to wait anyway. He values keeping other reviewers happy over his viewers and the public, which is sad. Media looking after each other even tho they effectively competitors.

Watch the rest of the video first.

Are you saying it's not going to be generally faster? Just based off of the 8700k it is going to be and it seems as though it could clock higher more reliably.
