Core 9000 series

You missed the bit where they said they used a budget board and that performance came up after removing the power limit on the cheapy board.

Yup, that's why Asus have bought out the Z370-A/P II Boards. The fabrication issues may lead to shortages of Z390 boards so this is their contingency. That said a friend of mine who deals with HFT systems had had great luck with his samples running at 5.4-5.5 All core with the Z370 Maximus Hero but in rack chassis with top secret cooling solution.

Yeah guessed i jumped the gun lol

think im also going to send this 9900k back to OCUK for a refund.
as from reviews if only i had just waited 2 hours lol would have pointed out that there is hardly no difference at all compaired to my 8700k @5.2ghz delid/relid cpu chip. with far better temps.

price was a issue but i could deal with it, lol but finding out its not much faster in gaming @1440p and molten lava temps has made me decide to send it back. not to mention though the reports of VRMS overheating on Z370 boards... as i would have been putting the chip into my Gigabyte Z370 gaming 7 board but thats also another risk that the vrms might over heat but also a after thought as i dont think this would happen as i use a monoblock over cpu and vrms. still all the issues and **** intel are throwing out does not make sence

so yeah OCUK will be sending this cpu back :/

So which one is it?

Well you could look at the time I posted and the time 8 Pack posted.

First batches of stock were kept for web stock.
Now the larger volumes have landed today, I've given stock to our SI department which 8 Pack has access too and shall then make there way into Infin8, 8 Pack and speed binned CPU's. :)

Any OEM CPU a customer buys is un-used, so the silicon lottery remains. All the stock 8 Pack test does not go back into webshop stock, it is all used in the infin8, 8 Pack and speed binning and de-lidded CPU's.

Actually you went to lunch we started binning these tray system stocks.

I already established binning profiles for i9 i7 and i5 using late ES batches.... Then also with these ES we adopted a delid procedure... We are saving 8-13c on stock 'solder' with 9900k.

We will offer all these sku in different bins.

I found in my testing z370 boards 100mhz light on core OC to z390 equivalent ..

What's the highest bin you have had so far @8Pack ? Interested to see how far these can be pushed with delidding, also are you guys lapping them as well ?

I can imagine anything approaching 5.4ghz is going to be in the £1200+ region?

We asked for solder yes. But I think Intel simply had no choice to keep the thermals under control, they knew they needed to ship a 8c/16t 5ghz cpu. Its quite laughable that soldered cpus still need a delid!!
