hi all got mine today ready for a new build so I plugged it in to my age old rig just to check for leaks fine there but one concern I had was the fan control button didnt seem to work no matter what setting I had the fan speed never changed. it went full speed as soon as I powered up then down.

what im thinking is should it be connected to the cpu to for the fans to kick in right once heat is passing through ? and plugged in to the cpu fan slot.

sorry for the noob questio just peace of mind

I think the pump has it's own controller. So the molex you plug in gives it the constant 12V. The two radiator fans go into the pump as well. Then the fan cable from the pump goes to CPU_FAN on your motherboard. This monitors the pump speed so you can see what it's doing in BIOS. The water block controls the speed of the rad fans. Not 100% sure though. Mine is coming tomorrow! Fingers crossed anyway.

I found that with the one I fitted tonight it took it about 5 seconds to register the change.

How loud is the pump supposed to be? I can here what sounds like a fan off balance type noise :(

Edit: Its one of the fans on the H100 :(

mine isn't hooked up to cpu as it's not going in the one I have now just testing it and just hoping the fan control isn't working cause it's not hocked up right

Yep. There's a fan controller in the CPU block that sets the fan speed according to the temperature and profile selected. The CPU fan cable reports back the pump rpm, mine shows around 2150rpm. The onboard fan controller runs at maximum speed for a few seconds at power on, then throttles back to the correct speed.

The fan control worked fine on mine when testing on my desk with just a molex plug and the fans plugged into the CPU block.

Not using the fan controller personally :P I have a recon which i can control myself for maximum control :) Been on tf2 all day running the cooler in sound as a pound :) changed the fans stock ones are HELLA noisy! Got my spectre's back on for now till i decide what am going to replace them with

Given they have a high static pressure I can't see the point in changing them for half a decibel. Yeah, they're HELLA noisy for the 30 seconds you power the PC up. Barely a murmur the rest of the time with the H100 controller set in quiet mode. I've got it pulling as exhaust our of the top of the case. 60C under sustained load, <30C at idle.

I can hear the fans in my MacBook pro more clearly.

30 Idle with a Phenom 8650. Sustained load 43

On lowest speed they go (1200rpm) according to my controller they're louder than my Bitfenix spectre's which run at 1200rpm also. Not tried the pump controller yet to be honest apart from to check it worked

Googled it.. apparently the pump head fan controller can bring them down to 900rpm.. Stock fans going back in tomorrow and ill control them via the pump head fan controller :)

Regarding the warranty on these units I know it was stated they have 90 days and people who had the sticker on the box with a year may be covered by Corsair but I noticed in my box it had all the documents stating it had 5 years.

Is there a checker like hard drive have to find out?

Just received my H100 after ordering yesterday. Great service, with haribo too ;)

Sticker on cellophane says 1 year warranty, this covers a sticker on the box inside that says 90 days.

Irrelevant as the thing has already leaked all over the box inside, soaking loads of the cardboard.

Do i RMA to Corsair?
